  • Patent number: 12232944
Abstract: Provided is a medical device formed entirely from or formed partially from a polymer, e.g., a polysaccharide such as chitosan. In some embodiments, the medical device may be formed as a tubular member formed from a sheet of a chitosan material. This chitosan tube may be used to wrap around tissue, such as a nerve or tendon to help with the regeneration or healing process of the nerve or tendon, as applicable.

  • Patent number: 12236259
Abstract: The subject technology performs a transaction locally at a computing node. The subject technology determines that the transaction has been completed. The subject technology determines a set of immutable attributes from the completed transaction. The subject technology generates an aggregate identifier based on the set of immutable attributes. The subject technology publishes the generated aggregate ID. The subject technology stores the published aggregate ID to an external storage location.

  • Patent number: 12236607
Abstract: In embodiments, a processing device detects a margin line in a model of a preparation from one or more images. The processing device determines, for each segment of a plurality of segments of the margin line, a quality score for the segment. The processing device determines that a segment of the margin line has a quality score that is below a quality threshold, wherein the segment of the margin line was generated based on a first set of images. Responsive to determining that the segment of the margin line has the quality score that is below the quality threshold, the processing devices updates the three-dimensional model of the preparation by replacing a portion of the three-dimensional model associated with the segment of the margin line with image data from at least one of a new image or a second set of images.

  • Patent number: 12236340
Abstract: A computer system trains a neural network to predict, for each pixel in an input image, the position that a robot's end effector would reach if a grasp (“poke”) were attempted at that position. Training data consists of images and end effector positions recorded while a robot attempts grasps in a pick-and-place environment. For an automated grasping policy, the approach is self-supervised, as end effector position labels may be recovered through forward kinematics, without human annotation. Although gathering such physical interaction data is expensive, it is necessary for training and routine operation of state of the art manipulation systems. Therefore, the system comes “for free” while collecting data for other tasks (e.g., grasping, pushing, placing). The system achieves significantly lower root mean squared error than traditional structured light sensors and other self-supervised deep learning methods on difficult, industry-scale jumbled bin datasets.

  • Patent number: 12235651
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for determining obstacle data based on sensor data such as greyscale data and depth data. Based on the obstacle data navigation data may be determined and used by an autonomous vehicle to navigate an environment such as a warehouse or storage facility. The obstacle data may be determined by determining three-dimensional representations of the greyscale data and the depth data and segmented and combining or fusing the three-dimensional representations of the greyscale data and the depth data. The system used to determine the obstacle data may be trained to avoid false obstructions and omitted obstructions.

  • Patent number: 12235837
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing read requests in a database system. The same read request is communicated to multiple nodes to reduce long tail latency. If the read request is communicated to two nodes and the first node is experiencing a communication failure, the read request is serviced by the second node. Once a response is received from the second node, the read request to the first node can be canceled.

  • Patent number: 12232974
Abstract: Disclosed is an implantable artificial intervertebral disc joint replacement device for implantation between adjacent vertebral bodies. The device allows selective positioning of a disc implant element and comprises translatable surfaces, a mechanism for translation, a means for bone attachment, and an integrated disc implant. The device can be used in the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical regions of the spine in single or multi-level configurations. When implanted in a patient, the device includes an upper (cranial) component and a lower (caudal) component attached to the vertebral body above and below the replaced intervertebral disc respectively, with the joint implant integrated into the translatable surfaces. Following implantation, precise positioning of the joint implant within the intervertebral space with respect to the spinal axis is then adjusted based upon the particular anatomical and functional needs of the individual patient to satisfy spinal range of motion and stability requirements.

  • Patent number: 12235691
Abstract: An electronic device may include a substrate having a substrate body. The electronic device may include a first interconnect region, for example located proximate to a first end of the substrate. The first interconnect region may extend from the substrate body. The first interconnect region may include a first set of interconnects, and the first set of interconnects may be located proximate to the substrate body. The first interconnect region may include a second set of interconnects, and the second set of interconnects may be located remote from the substrate body. The second set of interconnects may be physically separated from the first set of interconnects, for example by an inactive region. The first set of interconnects may be located between the inactive region and the substrate body.

  • Patent number: 12233082
Abstract: HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has been available for nearly a decade. Patients can take a pill comprising of multiple antiviral agents that, if exposed to HIV, will prevent a permanent viral infection with an extremely high success rate. However, the use of PrEP antivirals has been linked to higher rates of STIs including HSV-1, HSV-2, Infectious Mononucleosis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomanias, and syphilis. In particular, Herpes Simplex Viruses 1 and 2 can cause symptoms including oral or genital sores, while mono, caused by the Epstein-Barr Virus, can cause prolonged sickness. This disclosure utilizes two or more antiviral agents as a multi-use therapy for both suppressing a chronic herpesvirus infection while preventing an HIV infection. With this therapy, the odds of both acquiring HIV or spreading a herpesvirus are greatly reduced during human contact.

  • Patent number: 12232696
Abstract: Various apparatuses to attach a first medical device to a second medical device are described that allow the physician to grasp only a single device while the other device remains securely attached to the one being grasped. The apparatuses, once they are attached to the first medical device, are designed to be easily and quickly attached and detached to a second medical device, normally only requiring the use of one hand. Furthermore, the apparatuses oftentimes include a base that can easily couple and decouple from the portion that is attached to the second medical device so that if the need arises to separately use the second medical device, it can be decoupled from the first medical device without completely removing the apparatus from the second medical device.
