  • Patent number: 10327689
Abstract: Devices are provided to automatically access blood from beneath or within skin. These devices include an injector configured to drive a needle into the skin and subsequently to retract the needle from the skin. These devices additionally include a seal to which suction is applied. To drive the needle into the skin, the needle is first driven through the seal, creating at least one hole in the seal. The suction applied to the seal acts to draw blood from the puncture formed in the skin by the needle, through the at least one hole in the seal, and to a sensor, blood storage element, or other payload. These devices can be wearable and configured to automatically access blood from skin, for example, to access blood from the skin at one or more points in time while a wearer of a device is sleeping.

  • Patent number: 10318697
Abstract: A design layout for a semiconductor chip includes information on shapes desired to be fabricated. Clusters of photolithographic exposure “shots” are generated and subject to a measure of shot density to approximate a mask shape that generates the desired fabricated shapes when exposed during wafer fabrication. A simulation is run on the clusters of shots to estimate the resulting fabrication shapes that the clusters of shots create. The clusters of shots are modified to align the estimated fabrication shapes more closely with desired fabrication shapes. The process of simulating and modifying the shots is iterative, repeating until the estimated fabrication shapes are within a desired error difference of the planned fabrication shape.

  • Publication number: 20190120214
Abstract: An SMA actuation assembly comprising SMA actuator wires connected in tension between a support structure and a movable element is controlled to drive movement of the movable element with respect to the support structure by supplying drive signals to the SMA actuator wire. Target signals representing desired positions of the movable element are set, varying within a predetermined spatial envelope. Measures of resistance of the SMA actuator wires are derived and the power of the drive signals is controlled under closed loop control on the basis of the target signals and feedback signals obtained from the measures of resistance. Electrical characteristics of the SMA actuator wires are monitored and used to detect when a motion limit of the movement is reached. In response thereto, the spatial envelope is adjusted to restrict the movement to be within the detected motion limit.

  • Publication number: 20190108575
Abstract: A service provider system may implement an enterprise catalog service that manages software products and portfolios of software products on behalf of service provider customer organizations. A graph processing service of the enterprise catalog service may create a graph representation of the enterprise catalog service data, including principals, product listings, portfolios, and constraints (and the relationships between them) that may be used to manage access control, launch contexts, and searches within the enterprise catalog service. A primary (key-value) store may maintain an adjacency list and a secondary index of de-normalized edges. A secondary (document) store may maintain the de-normalized edges. In response to various queries directed to the graph processing service, the service may query the adjacency list or the secondary index. For example, one query may return a list of products that an end user can access, and another may return a count of products within a portfolio.

  • Patent number: 10223258
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for automated. VM performance tuning. An auto-tuning system implements a three stage automated VM performance tuning process to optimize garbage collection. In the first stage, the auto-tuning system analyzes garbage collection logs to calculate garbage collection parameters to configure the new generation portion of the memory heap (e.g., maximum tenuring age, maximum new size and survivor ratio). In the second stage, the auto-tuning system implements the calculated garbage collection parameter and monitors garbage collection activity for the VM to determine the resulting effects. In the third stage, the auto-tuning system tunes the old generation portion of the memory heap based on the monitored garbage collection activity.
