  • Publication number: 20190354542
Abstract: A system and method for generating activity summaries for users. User activity information is received by a user activity information receiver module. Once enough data is received and processed, the data is analyzes and segmented to determine and create an activity summary or story. Content is selected. The selection of the content includes selection of content items, such as multimedia items, e.g. pictures and videos. Secondary information, such as user activity information or location information is analyzed. A story is generated based on the selected content, including the selected content. The story is represented by a display of the selected media and other information associated with the media.

  • Patent number: 10474762
Abstract: Systems and methods to communicate information are described. The system receives a query and retrieves a set of data items from a database based on the query. The system generates a distribution based on a count of data items from the set of data items that were retrieved for each domain in a set of domains and a count of requests to view data items from another set of data items for each domain in the set of domains. The system identifies whether the distribution exhibits a type of a distribution by comparing the distribution with at least one of a peak distribution and a hills distribution. Finally, the system generates interface information based on the type of distribution.

  • Publication number: 20190319851
Abstract: Point cloud registration sits at the core of many important and challenging 3D perception problems including autonomous navigation, object/scene recognition, and augmented reality (AR). A new registration algorithm is presented that achieves speed and accuracy by registering a point cloud to a representation of a reference point cloud. A target point cloud is registered to the reference point cloud by iterating through a number of cycles of an EM algorithm where, during an Expectation step, each point in the target point cloud is associated with a node of a hierarchical tree data structure and, during a Maximization step, an estimated transformation is determined based on the association of the points with corresponding nodes of the hierarchical tree data structure. The estimated transformation is determined by solving a minimization problem associated with a sum, over a number of mixture components, over terms related to a Mahalanobis distance.

  • Patent number: 10442774
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed relating to a lens system that allows for simultaneous focus of near and far-away images with one pair of glasses, heads-up-displays (HUDs), and the like, without the need to move the user's eyes. This lens system may be used in a HUD application, for example, where the user may focus on a display lens that may be approximately one inch from the eye to view computer-generated information such as altitude, temperature, directions, and the like, and simultaneously view the individual's surroundings. The lens system may include a liquid lens that when modulated may vary from a near-focus state to a far-focus state rapidly by using an electrowetting or piezoelectric hydraulic actuator. This variable rate lens may be multiplexed at a rate that allows both near and far-away images to appear in focus simultaneously through the advantageous use of a user's persistence of vision.

  • Publication number: 20190304581
Abstract: This invention tracks and collects the data of the symptoms a person is experiencing as the symptoms happen, on a symptom logger, and are converted into a symptom score. The data is sent wirelessly to a tracker mobile app running on a user device when they are in range of each other. The tracker mobile app shows logged symptoms by date and time and tracks and collects the data of what may be triggering those symptoms (e.g., food, drink, medication, etc.). The tracker mobile app also keeps a daily journal of heath questions and sends reminders for medications to be taken. All the data is sent continually to the cloud. The data from the cloud is put into graphical reports for the medical professional and the patient. By correlating the data of symptoms and triggers, the medical professional can determine what is causing the patients symptoms and prescribe possible solutions.
