  • Patent number: 10217245
Abstract: When chroma keying, the colors to be removed from a video are first selected from an image of the background set using an eyedropper. The colors of the pixels that are selected form part of the chroma key, which also includes a tolerance range based on the colors. Colors to be removed are selected by clicking, or clicking and dragging the eyedropper. Portions of the image that are keyed are removed after each selection. The chroma key is expanded as more areas of the image are selected, until all the entire background set is selected. Chroma keying is carried out using the HSB (hue, saturation, brightness) convention.

  • Patent number: 10209973
Abstract: Private AppExchanges within an on-demand services environment in which multiple tenants have corresponding tenant identifiers (IDs) and the on-demand services environment is provided by an entity separate from the client entities. Access to a listing of apps is provided to a remote device based on a tenant ID associated with the user. The listing of apps for each tenant ID is controlled by an administrative entity associated with each respective tenant ID and. A download request is received from the remote device for a selected app from the listing. The remote device is allowed access only to the listing of apps having a tenant ID corresponding to the tenant ID for the remote device. Download access is granted to the remote device for a selected app in response to the download request. The code for the selected app is transmitted from a storage device to the remote device.

  • Patent number: 10200375
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for automated detection and mitigation of Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. One method includes an operation for collecting traffic data from service network routers that provide users access to a service. The traffic data is applied to security rules to identify a blacklist of illegitimate users to be blocked. Further, the method receives from the one or more servers a whitelist with information regarding legitimate users and their geographical location. A safe blacklist is determined for each router based on the blacklist and the whitelist, and the respective safe blacklist is sent to each router. Legitimate users are not blocked from accessing the service, but an illegitimate user spoofing a legitimate user is blocked by the routers when trying to access the service from a geographic location that is not the geographic location of the legitimate user.

  • Publication number: 20190030537
Abstract: An EWOD device includes opposing substrates defining a gap and each including an insulating surface facing the gap. Array elements include electrode elements to which actuation voltages are applied. A pre-charging structure defines a channel in fluid communication with the gap wherein the channel receives an input of a fluid reservoir for generation of the liquid droplet, and the pre-charging structure includes an electrical element electrically exposed to the channel. The electrical element pre-charges the fluid reservoir within the channel, and a portion of the gap containing the liquid droplet spaced apart from the channel is electrically isolated from the electrical element such that the liquid droplet is at a floating electrical potential when located within said portion of the gap. The electrical element may be an electrode portion that is exposed to the channel, or an externally connected pre-charging element inserted into the channel.

  • Publication number: 20190034413
Abstract: A communication device is arranged to transmit a character string that identifies the device. The character string comprises a plurality of substrings, each of which comprises a sequence of characters. A property of the device is identified using a data structure having multiple nodes, wherein each of a plurality of nodes stores a respective hash value. Each hash value corresponds to the hash value that would be generated by performing a hash function on the sequence of characters of each substring. The data structure comprises references between the plurality of nodes, and the references define a path through the data structure that identifies the device. A node on the path is associated with a property of the device.

  • Publication number: 20190004009
Abstract: A pixel circuit acts as a sensing element in a sensing device. The pixel circuit includes a sensing electrode, a first gate electrically connected to the sensing electrode, a second gate in electrical communication with the first gate, and a readout device that is electrically connected to the second gate. An input voltage applied to the sensing electrode is amplified between the first gate and the second gate, the amplification being measured as an output signal from the readout device to perform a sensing operation. For example, the output signal may be relatable to pH, analyte measurements, or other properties of sample liquids analyzed by the sensing device. A sensing device may include multiple pixels disposed on a substrate, each pixel including said pixel circuit. Driver circuits controlled by control electronics are configured to generate signals that selectively address the pixels and to read out voltages at the sensing electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20180318774
Abstract: Described in the present application are methods of producing silane-crosslinked polymer membranes at moderate temperatures using acid catalysts that, in certain embodiments, result in membranes with unexpectedly high permeabilities and selectivities. In certain embodiments, grafting and crosslinking of the silanes occur by immersing a preformed membrane in a solution comprising a silane and an acid catalyst. Alternatively, in certain embodiments, grafting of silanes to a polymer occurs in the presence of acid catalyst in solution and subsequent casting and drying produces crosslinked membranes. In certain embodiments, an acid catalyst is a weak acid catalyst. Also described in the present application are asymmetric crosslinked polymer membranes with porous layers. In certain embodiments, crosslinked cellulose acetate membranes have permeability up to an order of magnitude greater than the permeability of unmodified cellulose acetate membranes.
