Abstract: Techniques for cloud user interface (UI) rendering in a virtual set top system is performed by a UI engine on a server or a cloud platform. The method includes receiving a request for a UI, where the request includes a state associated with the UI and the request. The method further includes identifying, based at least in part on the first state, UI element(s) and/or interactions associated with the UI. The method also includes determining whether or not UI object(s) corresponding to the UI element(s) and/or the interactions exist in a cache. • Publication number: 20230156280
Abstract: Techniques for selecting TV user interface (UI) transition characteristics are described. In accordance with various embodiments, a transition characteristics selection method is performed at a device (e.g., a cloud UI engine on a server) with one or more processors and a non-transitory memory. The UI engine receives a request for transitioning from a first screen to a second screen on a client device while in a real-time content presentation mode. In response to receiving the request and while in the real-time content presentation mode, the UI engine obtains one or more presentation conditions of the client device and selects one or more transition characteristics for transitioning from the first screen to the second screen based on costs associated with the one or more transition characteristics and the one or more presentation conditions.

  • Publication number: 20230078997
Abstract: Disclosed are methods, apparatus and systems for treating a respiratory disorder in a patient. The apparatus comprises a pressure generator configured to generate a flow of air so as to provide ventilatory support to the patient; a transducer configured to generate a flow signal representing a property of the flow of air; and a controller configured to analyse the flow signal to estimate the inspiratory volume and the expiratory volume of a breath of the patient and servo-control the degree of ventilatory support to adjust an estimated tidal volume toward a target tidal volume. A gain of the servo-control is dependent on a difference between the estimated inspiratory volume and the estimated expiratory volume. The method comprises operating an apparatus or system in a similar manner.

  • Publication number: 20220362505
Abstract: A method of an apparatus control pressure in the patient interface. A vent valve may be used with a respiratory device, where the vent valve may selectively block fluid communication between components, such as the flow generator, the patient interface, and/or the vent. An expiratory flow model may be used to determine an expiratory characteristic such as an expiratory flow rate or pressure in the patient interface where an indicative measure may not be available. The expiratory flow model may receive inputs based on a measure of the patient's respiration, such as the tidal volume, peak inspiratory flow rate or length of inspiration. The expiratory characteristic may be used by a controller to control a pressure in the patient interface to provide respiratory therapy to a patient at or close to a target pressure.

  • Publication number: 20210155411
Abstract: Yeast cells are genetically modified to disrupt a native metabolic pathway from dihydroxyacetone to glycerol. In certain aspects, the yeast cell is of the genera Kluyveromyces, Candida or Issatchenkia. In other aspects, the yeast cell is capable of producing at least one organic acid, such as lactate. The yeast cells produce significantly less glycerol than the wild-type strains, and usually produce greater yields of desired fermentation products. Yeast cells of the invention often grow well when cultivated, despite their curtailed glycerol production.
