    Abstract: A cloud server maintains a neighboring vehicle data structure storing vehicle information of vehicles coupled to the cloud server over a network. The server receives a first request from a first of the vehicles, including a first vehicle identifier (ID) and current vehicle metadata of the first vehicle. In response to the first request, the server traverses the neighboring vehicle data structure to update a first node corresponding to the first vehicle based on the first vehicle ID and the current vehicle information of the first vehicle. The server transmits to the first vehicle over the network a list of one or more vehicle IDs identifying one or more vehicles that are within a predetermined geographic proximity of the first autonomous vehicles to allow the first vehicle to directly communicate with any vehicle in the list via a wireless local area network.

    Abstract: Virtual bumpers for autonomous vehicles improve effectiveness and safety as such vehicles are operated. One or more sensor systems having a Lidar sensor and a camera sensor determine proximity of objects around the vehicle and facilitate identification of the environment around the vehicle. The sensor systems are placed at various locations around the vehicle. The vehicle identifies an object and one or more properties of the identified object using the sensor systems. Based on the identified object and the properties of the object, a virtual bumper may be created for that object. For example, if the object is identified as another vehicle moving with a certain velocity, the vehicle may determine a minimum space to avoid the other vehicle, either by changing direction or reducing the velocity of the vehicle, with the minimum space constituting a virtual bumper.

The high-temperature drive-in process is allowed to be carried out to form a channel with a desired width, and a short channel effect which may cause penetration or electric leakage of the resulting device is prevented. As the polysilicon gate is not processed by any high-temperature drive-in process after it is doped with boron, the penetration of boron through a gate oxide layer and the diffusion of N-type impurity contained in the heavily doped polysilicon sinker into the channel or other regions are prevented.
