A method for communications device operations includes determining a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) response for each component carrier (CC) in a set of CCs configured by higher layer signaling, thereby producing a set of HARQ responses; generating an information vector from the set of HARQ responses, encoding the information vector; and transmitting the encoded information vector. The information vector comprises one or more bits respectively corresponding to a CC in the set of CCs. A bit is assigned a fixed value if HARQ response of a corresponding CC is set to DTX in response to no transmission detected over the CC.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for mapping and detecting a control channel. For the same aggregation level, according to a signaling length of a control channel corresponding to a component carrier, a corresponding search space is determined for at least two control channels that have the same signaling length, so as to enable the at least two control channels that have the same signaling length to use the same search space. The at least two control channels having the same signaling length are mapped to the determined corresponding search space. Therefore, conflicts between the control channels are reduced, and the number of times of blind detection of the control channels is also reduced.

The present invention solves the transmission problem of a backhaul link control channel in an LTE-A relay system, so that a relay can receive control information sent by the eNodeB within a wider scope and that the complexity of blind detection of the relay is decreased.

    Abstract: A base station (e.g., an evolved Node B) determines whether the physical broadcast channel (PBCH), reference signals (SCH) and common reference signals (CRS) are transmitted (or awaiting transmission) on a secondary component carrier (Scell) with the cell. The determination information is transmitted to a user equipment (UE) to inform the UE that the Scell transmissions do not include PBCH/SCH/CRS. As a result, the resource elements (REs) normally used to carry system information in the PBCH/SCH/CRS can be dynamically assigned (or reassigned) to the data channel.
