    Abstract: An online system hosts a retailer storefront user interface for a third-party retailer that includes content associated with items offered by the retailer for procurement and delivery through the online system. A retailer may provide preferences for where different candidate content is placed in the retailer storefront user interface. The online system applies a machine learning model to the retailer preferences and other contextual information relating to a particular presentation of the retailer storefront user interface to dynamically rank content for different possible placement positions. The ranking scores may relate to predicted performance metrics associated with operations of the online system. Content is then placed in the retailer storefront user interface based on the respective ranking scores.

    Abstract: A network processing system obtains a viewport of a client device for volumetric video and a two-dimensional (2D) subframe of a frame of volumetric video is obtained associated with the viewport. Viewports may be obtained from the client device or be predicted. 2D subframes and reduced resolution versions of frames can be transmitted to the client device. A client device may request volumetric video from the network processing system and provides a viewport to the network processing system. The client device may obtain from the network processing system reduced resolution versions of volumetric video frames and 2D subframes in accordance with the viewport. The client device may determine whether a current viewport matches the viewport associated with the obtained 2D subframe and provides a display based on either that subframe (upon a match) or a 2D perspective of the reduced resolution frame associated with the current viewport (if no match).

The disclosed transport protocol is “semi-reliable” in that it allows for specification of an importance of data being transmitted, thereby allowing important data to be sent reliably, while other data can be dropped if necessary, e.g., under bad network conditions. A deadline can be specified for such other data, and if the other data cannot be sent prior to the deadline, it can be dropped. Furthermore, the disclosed transport protocol can allow for early discovery of network jitter. A client device can send regular acknowledgments which identify most recently received data packets as well as a number of “heartbeat transmissions” received at the client device. A server device can use the acknowledgments to discover and respond to jitter.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for thermal transport in space for cryogenic propellant storage tank chilldown are described. In order to maximize the storage tank chilldown thermal efficiency for the least amount of required cryogen consumption, the embodiments relate to quenching heat transfer concepts that can include the combination of cryogenic spray quenching cooling, thermal insulator thin-film coating on the tank inner surface, and spray flow pulsing. The boiling heat transfer physics that supports the concepts are described. The completed flight experiments successfully demonstrated the feasibility of the concepts and discovered that spray cooling can be an efficient cooling method for the tank chilldown in microgravity. In microgravity, the data shows that the chilldown thermal efficiency can reach 30% with a thermal insulator coating alone. Further thermal efficiencies can be made up to 50% with flow pulsing.

A new image of an item to be offered for sale by a merchant via an ecommerce channel can be received and, based at least partly on the characteristic, it can be determined whether to integrate the new image into a content item for the merchant, wherein the content item to be presented via the ecommerce channel.
