Publication number: 20220354329Abstract: The present disclosure provides a Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Collection Device that comprises a carriage, a hitch, a holding chamber, a powered sweeper, and a funneling component. The carriage moves along a surface. The hitch couples the carriage to an Automated Mobile Robot (AMR) such that the automated robot drives movement of the carriage along the surface. The holding chamber is supported on the carriage and comprises an opening through which debris are passable into the holding chamber. The powered sweeper comprises a movable brush supported on the carriage and is operatively connected to a power supply of the Automated Mobile Robot. The funneling component is located between the movable brush and the holding chamber and is moved by the powered sweeper along surface S such that the debris swept by the movable brush are guided by the funneling component into the opening of the holding chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2022Publication date: November 10, 2022Inventors: Brandon Thomas, Alexander VanPelt, Jennifer Weddle, Gregorio Balandran

Patent number: 11390335Abstract: A system and apparatus for increasing the safety of motor vehicles traveling at high speeds in the rearward direction is provided. An air dam hingedly secured to the aft end of a vehicle may remain in a stowed position while the motor vehicle is traveling in a forward direction so as not to interfere with aerodynamic performance. When a motor vehicle begins to enter a spin, the air dam may deploy and increase the downward force on the vehicle and as well as act as an air brake, thereby reducing the likelihood of the aft end of the vehicle lifting from the surface during a spin-out at high speeds.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2020Date of Patent: July 19, 2022Assignee: NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR STOCK CAR AUTO RACING, LLCInventors: Brandon Thomas, John Probst, Eric Jacuzzi, Christopher A. Popiela, Timothy S. Murphy, Donald E. Krueger, Luca Pignacca, Alex Timmermans

Patent number: 11243911Abstract: A device and method for providing a fault-tolerant file system. The fault-tolerant file system attempts to minimize the number of writes used when updating file system data structures. In one embodiment, file system data, including file system metadata, is stored in a fault-tolerant tree including a working state and a transacted state. In one embodiment, a change list is used to track blocks that have been updated, instead of cascading updates to leaf nodes up the tree, and a delta block is used to further minimize block updates when adding or removing nodes from the tree. In one embodiment, a Q-Block is used to prevent cycles when adding and removing free blocks from an allocation tree. Metadata values are stored in the tree in a way that allows certain metadata values to be inferred when not present in the tree, thus conserving space and lowering query time.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2018Date of Patent: February 8, 2022Assignee: TUXERA US INCInventors: Brandon Thomas, Jeremy Glenn Sherrill

Patent number: 10198776Abstract: A data processing system and method delivers an open profile personalization system based on profile data structures that contain one or more interest nodes or channels. The channels can be created or subscribed to by the user, provided by social media friends of the user, and/or suggested by editors of the system. The interest nodes include respective sets of targets and qualifiers, where the targets and qualifiers comprise types of attributes to be used in the filtering of information files for delivery as a result set for the interest nodes. Targets and qualifiers are applied to the types of attributes and available information files to produce a filtered set. Web pages showing personalized results include tools based on content analysis to assist the user in creation and editing of the open profile.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2012Date of Patent: February 5, 2019Assignee: Graham Holdings CompanyInventors: Spiro Roiniotis, Vijay Ravindran, Brian Neumann, Thomas Burke, Charles Covey-Brandt, Brandon Thomas

Publication number: 20150137557Abstract: A temperature-controlled enclosure that is attachable to a personal mobility device. The present invention comprises a frame that is attachable to a wheelchair, scooter, or other personal mobility device via welding, fasteners, or any other such method of attachment. The frame supports a hingedly attached cover, a power source, a heating unit, and a cooling unit. When users are excessively hot or cold, they can pull the cover down and activate either the heating unit or the cooling unit, as desired. When the cover is in its closed position, the cover and the frame create an enclosed space around the seat of the personal mobility device, trapping the heated or cooled air therein and thus providing relief to users from the surrounding environmental conditions.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 18, 2014Publication date: May 21, 2015Inventor: Brandon Thomas
