  • Patent number: 9017329
Abstract: A method for applying compression to a joint includes providing an intramedullary fixation assembly having a proximal screw member positioned at a proximal end of the intramedullary fixation assembly and a lag screw member positioned at a distal end of the intramedullary fixation assembly. Medullary canals are drilled in a first and second bone and the medullary canals are reamed. The proximal screw member is inserted into the first bone and a drill is used create a dorsal hole in the first bone. The lag screw member is slideably coupled to the dorsal hole and to the proximal screw member and into the second medullary canal. A torque is applied to the lag screw member to apply compression to the joint.

  • Publication number: 20150007003
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for a multi-packet CRC engine are disclosed. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a system for a multi-packet CRC engine. The system includes an input module for receiving set of bits associated with at least one data packet and identifying packet boundaries within the plurality of bits, multiple CRC pre-calculation blocks (CPBs) that receive from the input module subsets of the set of bits, each subset containing a portion of a packet less than all of a packet, and calculate a CRC value for its respective subset of bits, and an output module for receiving the calculated CRC values from the CPBs and using the calculated CRC values to produce packet-specific CRC values, where the output module is dynamically configurable to combine the calculated CRC values according to the identified packet boundaries to produce packet-specific CRC values.

  • Patent number: 8875983
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide boxes that are particularly useful in connection with trash collection and trash compaction. The boxes are designed as having a single-piece board construction with a strength that can contain mixed types of trash, including solids and liquids, and to effectively contain the trash during the pressure of a compaction process without tearing, splitting and/or leaking. They are also designed to use a waterproof coating for adhering seams, reducing the extra step and expense of using a glue or an adhesive to secure the box seams. The trash compaction boxes provided herein are particularly useful on aircraft and other passenger transport vehicles, where weight and performance are of primary concern.

  • Publication number: 20140297321
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are therefore provided to determine a mapping between healthcare messaging protocols. This mapping may be generated by receiving a message containing a known set of data in an unknown format. The message may be analyzed to identify one or more data fields corresponding to the known data, and the data fields may be mapped to a known structure based on identification of the known data within the message. The process may be repeated until a mapping is generated for each field of the message. In some embodiments, the process may dynamically determine sets of known data to assist with identification of mapping between particular fields of the unknown format with fields of a known message format.

  • Publication number: 20140297322
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are therefore in order to provide delayed propagation of patient healthcare data. In this regard, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products may operate to control propagation of healthcare data for a delay period to ensure the accuracy of received medical data. This delay period may function to allow a record keeper to identify and correct any errors associated with the patient healthcare data. The delay period may be dynamic and configurable based on characteristics of the patient healthcare data. The delay period may be adjusted such that a threshold percentage of modifications are captured during the delay period. In some embodiments, the delay period may be associated with particular record characteristics, such as the record keeper that provided the record, a medical specialty associated with the record, patient demographic information, or the like.
