  • Publication number: 20180075655
Abstract: Digital content interaction and navigation techniques and systems in virtual and augmented reality are described. In one example, techniques are employed to aid user interaction within a physical environment in which the user is disposed while viewing a virtual or augmented reality environment. In another example, techniques are described to support a world relative field of view and a fixed relative field of view. The world relative field of view is configured to follow motion of the user (e.g., movement of the user's head or mobile phone) within the environment to support navigation to different locations within the environment. The fixed relative field of view is configured to remain fixed during this navigation such that digital content disposed in this field of view remains at that relative location to a user's field of view.

  • Publication number: 20180061128
Abstract: Digital content rendering coordination techniques in augmented reality are described. In one example, a user is provided with a first display device via which an augmented reality environment is to be viewed that includes at least a partial view of a physical environment. As part of this physical environment, a second display device (e.g., a desktop monitor, a mobile phone, and so forth) is also viewable by a user through the first display device, i.e., is directly viewable. Techniques are described herein in which a view of digital content on the second display device is coordinated with a display of digital content on the first display device. This may be used to support a variety of usage scenarios to expand and share functionality associated with these different devices.

  • Publication number: 20180053236
Abstract: Navigation and reward techniques involving physical goods and services are described. In one example, digital content is configured to aid navigation of a user between different physical goods or services. This navigation includes user specified good or services as well as recommended goods or services that are not specified by the user. In another example, digital content is provided as part of a reward system. In return for permitting access to user data, the user is provided with rewards that are based on this monitored interaction. In this way, an owner of the store may gain detailed knowledge which may be used to increase likelihood of offering goods or services of interest to the user. In return, the user is provided with rewards to permit access to this detailed knowledge.

  • Patent number: 9891192
Abstract: A system and method for generating a digital image in fluorescence gel imaging is disclosed. The method includes providing a gel sample and placing the gel sample on a flat panel detector having array of photodiodes and transistors that collect light generated from the gel sample. The gel sample is illuminated using a light source integrated into the flat panel imaging system and light emitted by the gel sample responsive to an excitation of the gel sample by light provided by the light source is then collected, with the light emitted by the gel sample being collected by the array of photodiodes of the flat panel detector and converted to electric charges to generate light data. The light data is then processed to generate a digital image of the gel sample.

  • Publication number: 20180037070
Abstract: A pressure sensing circuit for use with a wireless sensor that includes an antenna and a pressure sensing element. The antenna includes a first pole and a second pole and is operable to transceive radio frequency signals between the wireless sensor and a wireless data collecting device. The pressure sensing element includes an electrical circuit and a diaphragm. When pressure is applied to the diaphragm, a characteristic of the electrical circuit changes. The changing of the characteristic of the electrical circuit causes one or more RF characteristics of the wireless sensor to change, which is interpretable to determine a pressure being applied to the pressure sensing element.

  • Publication number: 20180040939
Abstract: A method begins by a first radio frequency identification (RFID) sensor, that is associated with a first object element, receiving a first data request signal from an RFID reader and sending a first radio frequency (RF) signal that includes first data to the RFID reader in response to the first data request signal. The method continues with a second RFID sensor receiving a second data request signal from, and sending second data to, the RFID reader. The method continues with the RFID reader sending a representation of the first and second data to a data processing unit, which processes the representation of the first and second data to determine a first and second data point regarding first and second object elements. The method continues by the data processing unit processing the first and second data points to determine an environmental relationship between the first and second object elements.

  • Publication number: 20180034783
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to sharing secure communication secrets with a network monitoring device (NMD). The NMD may passively monitor network packets communicated between client computers and server computers. If a secure communication session is established between a client computer and a server computer, a key provider may provide the NMD a session key that corresponds to the secure communication session. The NMD may buffer each network packet associated with the secure communication session until the NMD is provided a session key for the secure communication session. The NMD may use the session key to decrypt network packets communicated between the client computer and the server computer. The NMD may then proceed to analyze the secure communication session based on the contents of the decrypted network packets.

  • Publication number: 20180006572
Abstract: A power harvesting circuit, a rectifier circuit and a capacitor. The rectifier circuit includes a diode circuit and a diode voltage reduction circuit. The diode circuit passes a current when a received RF signal has a first polarity and to substantially blocks the current when the received RF signal has a second polarity. The diode voltage reduction circuit is operably coupled to reduce a voltage drop of the diode circuit. The capacitor is operably coupled to convert the rectified signal into a DC supply voltage.

  • Publication number: 20170373395
Abstract: A passive radio frequency identification (RFID) sensor is provided. This passive RFID sensor includes an inductive loop, a processing module, and a wireless communication module. The inductive loop has an inductive loop impedance that may vary with an environment in which the inductive loop is placed. The processing module couples to the inductive loop and has a tuning module that may vary a reactive component impedance coupled to the inductive loop in order to change a system impedance. The system impedance includes both the inductive loop impedance and the reactive component impedance. The tuning module then produces an impedance value representative of the reactive component impedance. A memory module may store the impedance value which may then later be communicated to an RFID reader via the wireless communication module.
