  • Publication number: 20170226923
Abstract: An engine includes a cylinder head having a first face defining an entrance to an intake port, and an intake manifold having a second face defining an outlet from a runner. The first and second faces mate to fluidly connect the entrance and the outlet, and an area mismatch or offset exists between the entrance and the outlet. A tongue is positioned into the intake port to extend over a floor of the intake port and has an area substantially equal to a difference between the entrance area and the outlet area. • Patent number: 9727933
Abstract: A member of a Common Interest Development (CID) provides login credentials to an application server using a network-enabled device. For example, the CID is a residential condominium and the managing member is a Home Owners Association (HOA) board member. If authentication is successful, then the application server serves a three-dimensional reserve study markup language document to the device. The document renders a three-dimensional reserve study on a display of the device. The three-dimensional reserve study rendered on the display includes a three-dimensional line art diagram of the CID and a plurality of graphical elements. The graphical elements include reserve component information, such as identification information, location information, temporal information, description information, and financial information.

  • Publication number: 20170222870
Abstract: A method, non-transitory machine readable medium, and system are provided for configuring a storage device. In some embodiments, the method includes establishing, by a storage system, a near field communication (NFC) session with a mobile device. A first set of identifiers is sent from the storage system to the mobile device via the NFC session. The first set of identifiers is modified at the mobile device. The mobile device sends the modified set of identifiers to the storage system. The modified set of identifiers is then assigned to the storage system.

  • Publication number: 20170215835
Abstract: A stethoscope system may include an array of sensors, which may include pressure sensors. The array may be implemented in a wearable “patch” that is conformable to a patient's body. The stethoscope system may include a control system that is capable of receiving signals from the array of sensors. The signals may, for example, correspond to measurements from multiple pressure sensors of the array. The control system may be capable of combining signals from multiple pressure sensors to produce combined signals. The control system may be capable of filtering the combined signals to remove, at least in part, breathing signal components and to produce filtered signals. The control system may be capable of determining a correspondence between heart signal components of the filtered signals and corresponding heart valve activity.

  • Publication number: 20170215632
Abstract: An apparatus and method for sharing capsule image data and beverage preparation parameters, from one or more beverage preparation machines with a remote computer system via a network, such as the Internet, is disclosed. The remote computer system may process the capsule image data to determine characteristics of the capsule (e.g., a type of capsule, such as a brand, or beverage ingredients in the capsule), thereby relieving the beverage preparation from having to determine information about the capsule. The remote computer may track a user's consumption of capsules, may compare this value to the user's past capsule purchase history, and may determine if the user's supply of capsules is below a threshold value (e.g., below a week's worth of capsules).

  • Publication number: 20170214142
Abstract: A wireless sensor includes environment sensing structure, a radio frequency (RF) front-end, and a processing module. When the wireless sensor is positioned proximal to an object, a portion of the environment sensing structure senses an environmental condition in a remote area of the object that effects a characteristic of the RF front-end. The processing module generates a reference value representative of a known environmental condition in the remote area based on the effect on the characteristic of the RF front-end. The processing module generates a sensed value representative of an unknown environmental condition in the remote area based on the effect on the characteristic of the RF front-end when the environment sensing structure is sensing the unknown environmental condition. The processing module transmits, via the RF front-end, at least one of the reference value, the sensed value, or a difference between the reference value and the sensed value.

  • Publication number: 20170201004
Abstract: A wireless sensor includes an antenna, a sensing element, a tuning circuit, a processing module, a reference circuit block, and a transmitter. The tuning circuit adjusts the RF front-end to compensation for a change in a characteristic of the RF front end caused by the sensing element. The reference circuit block generates a signal based on a low voltage low frequency input that corresponds to a second environmental condition. The processing module generates a first digital value based on the adjustment to the RF front-end, where the first digital value is a representation of the first environmental condition, and generate a second digital value based on the signal, where the second digital value is a representation of the second environmental condition. The transmitter generates the outbound RF signal that includes at least one of the first and second digital values.

  • Publication number: 20170194375
Abstract: Various approaches are discussed for using four-side buttable CMOS tiles to fabricate detector panels, including large-area detector panels. Fabrication may utilize pads and interconnect structures formed on the top or bottom of the CMOS tiles. Electrical connection and readout may utilize readout and digitization circuitry provided on the CMOS tiles themselves such that readout of groups or sub-arrays of pixels occurs at the tile level, while tiles are then readout at the detector level such that readout operations are tiered or multi-level.
