  • Publication number: 20190092388
Abstract: A system for assisting in reversing of a vehicle-trailer combination includes a vehicle steering system and a controller. The controller outputs a steering signal to the steering system to maintain the vehicle-trailer combination along a straight backing path and determines a straight-backing offset of a hitch angle in the vehicle-trailer combination as a proportion of an integral of a measured characteristic of the vehicle-trailer combination that varies from a desired zero value.

  • Patent number: 10222804
Abstract: A method of controlling a vehicle while the vehicle is backing up with a trailer attached thereto. The vehicle may include a brake system and a power train system. The method includes determining a trailer yaw rate, and estimating a modified trailer curvature. The modified trailer curvature comprises a ratio of the trailer yaw rate to the vehicle speed. The method further includes determining a maximum allowable vehicle speed as a function of modified trailer curvature utilizing predefined criteria that defines a maximum allowable vehicle speed for a given modified trailer curvature. The method further includes limiting the vehicle speed such that the maximum allowable vehicle speed is not exceeded.

  • Publication number: 20190061817
Abstract: A system for assisting in reversing of a vehicle-trailer combination includes a vehicle steering system and a controller. The controller outputs a steering signal based on a control parameter to the steering system to maintain the trailer along a commanded backing path, determines an error between a measured behavior of a characteristic of the vehicle-trailer combination and a predicted behavior of the characteristic, and adjusts the control parameter based on the error.

  • Patent number: 10207505
Abstract: A method of fabricating a charging device for an inkjet printing system includes providing a charging device body having at least one conductive trace passing through the interior of the charging device body connecting between a charging face of the charging device body and an interconnection region remote from the charging face. A portion of the at least one conductive trace is exposed on the charging face. A vapor deposition process is used to deposit a conductive base layer through a shadow mask onto the charging face, wherein the deposited conductive base layer contacts the exposed portion of at least one conductive trace. One or more conductive metallic layers are plated onto the deposited conductive base layer to form a charging electrode.

  • Publication number: 20190040942
Abstract: A primary clutch of a continuously variable transmission with a launch mechanism is provided. The primary clutch includes a central post, a fixed sheave assembly, a movable sheave assembly and a locking mechanism. The central post is configured to receive rotational torque from a motor. The fixed sheave assembly is statically mounted on the central post. The movable sheave assembly is mounted on the central post. The movable sheave assembly includes a movable sheave system that is configured to move axially on the central post towards the fixed sheave assembly as RPM of the primary clutch increase. The locking mechanism is configured and arranged to selectively prevent movement of the movable sheave system independent of the RPM of the primary clutch.

  • Patent number: 9979095
Abstract: According to certain inventive techniques, a system includes a plurality of shelves in an interior chamber of a cold-storage apparatus, an RFID antenna assembly in the cold-storage apparatus, and a controller. Each of the shelves can support items that are connected a corresponding RFID tag. The RFID antenna assembly includes a plurality of RFID antenna elements that direct a transmission of radio frequenc(ies) towards the plurality of shelves. The controller is in communication with the RFID antenna assembly and can individually and separately control each of the RFID antenna elements.

  • Publication number: 20180078001
Abstract: Buckle assemblies and associated systems and methods for use with child seats and other restraint systems are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a buckle assembly includes a housing having an opening shaped to receive a first tongue of a first web connector and a second tongue of a second web connector. The buckle assembly also includes a spring having a first ejector arm carrying a first magnet and a second ejector arm carrying a second magnet. A switch assembly is positioned within the housing, and insertion of the tongues into the housing to latch the buckle assembly moves the magnets toward the switch assembly to activate switches in the switch assembly and produce a signal confirming buckle engagement.

  • Publication number: 20180004988
Abstract: A transportable container is enabled with radio frequency identification (“RFID”) technologies to maintain automated inventory levels of those items that are inside the container. The inventory data is communicated via wireless methods, such as cellular or Wi-Fi, to a remote device such as enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) system. The ERP system may use the inventory data received from the remote device to automatically update appropriately and generate appropriate records (e.g., container inventory, restocking, invoicing, etc.). In some embodiments, automated RFID scans are triggered when the container is opened and subsequently closed. The container may include RF containment/screening to prevent inadvertent scanning of RFID tags outside of the container. The container may also include a location device to allow the location of the container to be readily determined.

  • Patent number: 9858932
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a method of representing spatial rendering metadata for processing in an object-based audio system that allows for lossless interpolation and/or re-sampling of the metadata. The method comprises time stamping the metadata to create metadata instances, and encoding an interpolation duration to with each metadata instance that specifies the time to reach a desired rendering state for the respective metadata instance. The re-sampling of metadata is useful for re-clocking metadata to an audio coder and for the editing audio content.
