  • Patent number: 9745102
Abstract: A bag has a front panel, a back panel, and a gusset, each having a thermoplastic ply at its interior face. The interior face of the gusset is thermally welded to the interior face of the front panel and back panel at respective joins from which extend respective panel extensions which are also thermally welded to each other at a third join. Extensions of the gusset cover parts of the respective panels and are thermally welded to them. Other parts of the panel extensions are not covered by the gusset extensions and are welded to each other to form the third join. The extensions can form a handle part for the bag.

  • Patent number: 9704000
Abstract: A transportable container is enabled with radio frequency identification (“RFID”) technologies to maintain automated inventory levels of those items that are inside the container. The inventory data is communicated via wireless methods, such as cellular or Wi-Fi, to a remote device such as enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) system. The ERP system may use the inventory data received from the remote device to automatically update appropriately and generate appropriate records (e.g., container inventory, restocking, invoicing, etc.). In some embodiments, automated RFID scans are triggered when the container is opened and subsequently closed. The container may include RF containment/screening to prevent inadvertent scanning of RFID tags outside of the container. The container may also include a location device to allow the location of the container to be readily determined.

  • Publication number: 20160302521
Abstract: The optimized shoe invention comprises five embodiments and two methods to optimize both the performance and comfort of footwear for walking and running and for robotics, prosthetics and orthotics. First, there are three versions of enhanced heel-lift shoes for energy return much higher than that of just “springs in shoes.” Second, to minimize foot impact shoe there are ten enhanced optimal springs with 1% hysteresis loss. Third, for ankle and knee joints there is a rotating-arms enhanced optimal spring. Fourth, said enhanced optimal springs are incorporated into conventional shoes. Fifth, there is an automatic gear change mechanism to change the sole spring stiffness so that the sole is always close to full compression—so that the performance and comfort is always optimal. The optimal force curve method features a pre-loaded constant force curve tuned to a particular use. The shoe tuning method provides precise sole energies by slicing springs.

  • Patent number: 9420065
Abstract: Various aspects of the subject technology relate to systems, methods, and machine-readable media for providing a software update. A system is configured to receive, from an update server, an update patch for a computer program installed on a memory of a first computing machine, execute the update patch on a first computing machine to update the computer program, receive a request for the updated computer program from a second computing machine, and transmit the updated computer program installed on the memory of the first computing machine to the second computing machine without transmitting the update patch.

  • Publication number: 20160232386
Abstract: According to certain inventive techniques, a system includes a plurality of shelves in an interior chamber of a cold-storage apparatus, an RFID antenna assembly in the cold-storage apparatus, and a controller. Each of the shelves can support items that are connected a corresponding RFID tag. The RFID antenna assembly includes a plurality of RFID antenna elements that direct a transmission of radio frequenc(ies) towards the plurality of shelves. The controller is in communication with the RFID antenna assembly and can individually and separately control each of the RFID antenna elements.

  • Publication number: 20160163321
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a method of representing spatial rendering metadata for processing in an object-based audio system that allows for lossless interpolation and/or re-sampling of the metadata. The method comprises time stamping the metadata to create metadata instances, and encoding an interpolation duration to with each metadata instance that specifies the time to reach a desired rendering state for the respective metadata instance. The re-sampling of metadata is useful for re-clocking metadata to an audio coder and for the editing audio content.

  • Publication number: 20160061599
Abstract: This disclosure relates to localization and tracking of an object. As one example, measurement data can be stored in memory to represent measured electrical signals at each of a plurality of known measurement locations in a given coordinate system in response to an applied signal at an unknown location in the given coordinate system. A dipole model cost function has parameters representing a dipole location and moment corresponding to the applied signal. A boundary condition can be imposed on the dipole model cost function. The unknown location in the given coordinate system, corresponding to the dipole location, can then be determined based on the stored measurement data and the dipole model cost function with the boundary condition imposed thereon.
