  • Publication number: 20050026578
Abstract: A decorrelating rake receiver (401) using a signal processor (213) and corresponding method (1000) to determine filter coefficients (1005). The decorrelating rake receiver includes a plurality of filters (219) arranged to be coupled to an input signal (403) and the filter coefficients (409), the plurality of filters operable to provide a plurality of output signals and a coefficient generator (407), coupled to the input signal, to explicitly and definitely determine the filter coefficients for the plurality of filters such that the plurality of filters perform a decorrelating rake process. The decorrelating rake receiver further includes a combiner (221) to combine the plurality of output signals and provide a received signal (405). The decorrelating rake receiver (401) is suitable for use in a wireless communication device (101) or base transceiver (103).

  • Patent number: 4943649
Abstract: Alkoxylated polyols are prepared by dispersing a nitrogen-containing material, such as urea, into a dispersing media comprised of a polyether or polyester polyol and a chemical moiety capable of being alkoxylated, such as a carbohydrate, i.e. whey permeate or sucrose, lactose, etc., and reacting the resultant dispersion with a C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 epoxide to form an alkoxylated polyol having a hydroxyl number below about 600. In certain embodiments, up to about 25% by weight of a urea material can be incorporated within the alkoxylated polyol for improved flame retardancy in the polyurethane/polyisocyanate/polyisocyanurate foams produced therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4722803
Abstract: Fluorocarbon blowing agent compatible polyol blends are provided comprising reaction products of a combination of (a) a residue from the manufacture of dimethyl terephthalate, (b) a low molecular weight diol compound, (c) a nonionic surfactant compound, (d) optionally a hydrophobic compound, and (e) optionally a polybasic carboxylic acid compound. These polyol blends are produced by a simple heating process and are thereafter optionally blendable with various conventional polyols and other additives (including fluorocarbons and catalysts) to make resin prepolymer blends. Such resin blends can be catalytically reacted with organic isocyanates to produce cellular polyurethanes and polyurethane/polyisocyanurates.

  • Patent number: 4634917
Abstract: A tactile sensing apparatus having a piezoelectric energizing layer with a plurality of conductors disposed on one surface of a piezoelectric material and a plurality of conductors disposed on the opposite surface of the piezoelectric material, the plurality of conductors having electrical connections connected to electrical energizing means. An electrical insulating layer disposed adjacent the piezoelectric energizing layer. A second piezoelectric sensing layer is disposed adjacent the insulating layer, and has conducting surfaces disposed on opposite surfaces thereof. The conductors in the piezoelectric energizing layer provide N.times.M energizing areas with N+M electrical connections to the energizing layer. Further apparatus may include an oscillator, an optional amplifier and a switching means or multiplexer for the input signal. The apparatus may optionally have more than one piezoelectric energizing layer as well as more than one piezoelectric sensing layer. • Patent number: 4608432
Abstract: Terephthalate polyester polyol blends comprising reaction products of a combination of polyethylene terephthalate, a polybasic carboxylic acid compound, a low molecular weight diol compound and a compatibilizer compound are compatible with fluorocarbon blowing agents. These polyol blends are produced by a simple heating process and are thereafter blendable with various conventional polyols and other additives to make resin prepolymer blends which can be catalytically reacted with organic isocyanates to produce cellular polyurethanes and polyurethane/polyisocyanurates.
