  • Publication number: 20230313633
Abstract: In wellbore completions it is sometimes desirable to block fluid flow from lower in the well towards an upper portion of the well. In a current embodiment of the invention a plug may be placed within a wellbore and, once set, the plug prevents fluid flow past the plug. The plug includes a throughbore into which an object may be placed. The object may be solid and incorporate a shear device such as a shear pin so that in the presence of pressure from above the plug the object may be removed from the throughbore to allow fluid flow through the throughbore of the plug. In the alternative, pressure provided by fluid below the plug is not able to remove the object from the throughbore of the plug. In other embodiments the object within the throughbore of the plug may include a flapper valve to prevent fluid flow from below while allowing fluid flow from above. The flapper valve may also include a shear pin so that a certain amount of pressure is required to open the flapper valve to pressure from above.

  • Patent number: 11556009
Abstract: To address privacy issues with “always on” cameras of an AR headset, the cameras can be muted and content displayed by the headset adjusted to provide a user with a visual indication that the cameras are deactivated. The headset includes a display element configured to display content to a user and an eye tracking system that includes a camera configured to track eye motion of the user. In response to the headset receiving a camera muting event from the user or the external environment, the headset deactivates the camera and adjusts the content displayed on the display element to provide the user with a visual indication that the camera is deactivated. In one embodiment, the visual indication is an adjustment of the display from a default RGB color mode to “monochrome” or other predefined color map.

  • Patent number: 11526065
Abstract: The disclosed electronic shutter may include (1) an optical structure including a medium through which light from an environment passes to a lens of a camera for capturing an image of the environment; and (2) a controlling circuit that (a) detects a first condition of a signal, where the first condition indicates an activation of the camera, (b) controls, in response, to the first condition, the optical structure such that the medium attains a transparent optical state, (c) detects a second condition of the signal, where the second condition indicates a deactivation of the camera, and (d) controls, in response to the second condition, the optical structure such that the medium attains a non-transparent optical state in a manner that prevents visual detection of the lens from the environment. Various other methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220369734
Abstract: The present invention includes a mask body having a cord attached at three locations on the mask body and a deformable bridge piece. The cord is attached at the middle of an upper edge of the mask body generally aligning with the location of the bridge of the wearer's nose. The cord is further attached at each of two lower positions on the mask body, preferably near or at the bottom corners of the mask body. The cord is further threaded through eyelets located at each of two upper positions on the mask body, preferably near or at the upper corners of the mask body. The deformable bridge piece is located along the upper edge of the mask body, and generally centered on the bridge of the wearer's nose.

  • Patent number: 11149521
Abstract: A delayed opening sliding sleeve system includes a first sleeve that prevents initiating the dissolution or erosion of a dissolvable or erodible retainer. The first sleeve is opened by a pressure cycle to expose or otherwise initiate the dissolution of a retainer. The retainer holds a second sleeve in place. The second sleeve is held closed against subsequent pressure cycles until such time as the retainer is dissolved or otherwise removed. With the retainer removed the second sleeve may be opened allowing fluid communication between the exterior and the interior of the sleeve system.

  • Patent number: 11078744
Abstract: In wellbore completions it is sometimes desirable to seal the wellbore against fluid flow or to anchor a component within the wellbore. However, running such a plug into the wellbore has been problematic on occasion such as when the nose of the plug encounters an object within the wellbore such as a sand bridge or other obstruction. In those instances, the way of the tubular pushing the plug into the wellbore combined with the nose of the plug being unable to pass the instruction causes the plug to prematurely set. Such an instance the plug may need to be drilled out in order to proceed. In the present embodiment the tubular used to move the plug into the well is attached to the nose of the plug so that the force provided to the plug by the tubular is transmitted only to the nose of the plug preventing the plug from presetting and allowing the plug to push past or through an obstacle within the wellbore.

  • Patent number: 10810367
Abstract: In one implementation, a content processing system includes a computing platform having a hardware processor and a system memory storing a content classification software code, a natural language processor, and a computer vision analyzer. The hardware processor executes the content classification software code to receive content inputs from multiple content sources, and, for each content input, to parse the content input for metadata describing the content input, obtain a description of language-based content included in the content input from the natural language processor, and obtain a description of visual content included in the content input from the computer vision analyzer.
