Patent number: 11556009Abstract: To address privacy issues with “always on” cameras of an AR headset, the cameras can be muted and content displayed by the headset adjusted to provide a user with a visual indication that the cameras are deactivated. The headset includes a display element configured to display content to a user and an eye tracking system that includes a camera configured to track eye motion of the user. In response to the headset receiving a camera muting event from the user or the external environment, the headset deactivates the camera and adjusts the content displayed on the display element to provide the user with a visual indication that the camera is deactivated. In one embodiment, the visual indication is an adjustment of the display from a default RGB color mode to “monochrome” or other predefined color map.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2021Date of Patent: January 17, 2023Assignee: Meta Platforms Technologies, LLCInventors: Brian Kennedy, Sam Sarmast, Fletcher Nelson

Patent number: 11149521Abstract: A delayed opening sliding sleeve system includes a first sleeve that prevents initiating the dissolution or erosion of a dissolvable or erodible retainer. The first sleeve is opened by a pressure cycle to expose or otherwise initiate the dissolution of a retainer. The retainer holds a second sleeve in place. The second sleeve is held closed against subsequent pressure cycles until such time as the retainer is dissolved or otherwise removed. With the retainer removed the second sleeve may be opened allowing fluid communication between the exterior and the interior of the sleeve system.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2019Date of Patent: October 19, 2021Assignee: Shale Oil Tools, LLCInventor: Brian Kennedy

Patent number: 11078744Abstract: In wellbore completions it is sometimes desirable to seal the wellbore against fluid flow or to anchor a component within the wellbore. However, running such a plug into the wellbore has been problematic on occasion such as when the nose of the plug encounters an object within the wellbore such as a sand bridge or other obstruction. In those instances, the way of the tubular pushing the plug into the wellbore combined with the nose of the plug being unable to pass the instruction causes the plug to prematurely set. Such an instance the plug may need to be drilled out in order to proceed. In the present embodiment the tubular used to move the plug into the well is attached to the nose of the plug so that the force provided to the plug by the tubular is transmitted only to the nose of the plug preventing the plug from presetting and allowing the plug to push past or through an obstacle within the wellbore.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2018Date of Patent: August 3, 2021Assignee: Shale Oil Tools, LLCInventor: Brian Kennedy

Publication number: 20210071507Abstract: A removable barrier is provided that prevents flow between an exterior of a mandrel and an interior of a mandrel. In one embodiment a dissolvable shroud surrounds the ports of the gas lift valve and temporarily prevents flow between the exterior of the gas lift valve and the interior of the mandrel. In an additional embodiment, a dissolvable plug may be placed within a portion of the gas lift valve or a portion of the lug in the mandrel to temporarily prevent flow between the exterior of the gas lift valve and the interior of the mandrel. In another embodiment, a dissolvable sleeve is placed within the mandrel to cover the port within the mandrel to temporarily prevent flow between the exterior of the gas the valve in the interior of the mandrel.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 10, 2020Publication date: March 11, 2021Applicant: Shale Oil Tools, LLCInventor: Brian Kennedy

Patent number: 10432576Abstract: A method of selecting an edge proxy server to serve web contents to user devices is disclosed. Domain name system (DNS) queries from a domain name resolver are received. A mapping between the domain name resolver and a corresponding list of user devices served by the domain name resolver are created based on the received DNS queries. A transformed geographical location representing the domain name resolver is determined based on the mapping. An edge proxy server is selected in response to a future DNS query received from the domain name resolver based at least in part on the transformed geographical location of the domain name resolver.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2014Date of Patent: October 1, 2019Assignee: Instart Logic, Inc.Inventor: Brian Kennedy
