  • Publication number: 20180173842
Abstract: Presented herein are systems and methods related to a scalable and platform-agnostic framework that facilitates the creation of personal genetic profile products. In particular, in certain embodiments, the systems and methods described herein facilitate the creation, storage, organization, and maintenance (e.g. updating) of data corresponding to the relationships between particular variations that may occur in an individual's DNA (e.g. variants of different specific SNPs) and the health-related phenotypes that they influence. The data stored in this manner can be used as a template not only for presenting personal genetic profile assessments to an individual in an informative and user-friendly manner, but also for the rapid, automated creation of personal genetic profile assessments of a plurality of individuals from data corresponding to genotyping measurements of biological samples provided by the individuals.

  • Patent number: 10003333
Abstract: A method of non-rotatably securing a target to a shaft extending along a longitudinal axis within an enclosed proximity switch assembly is described. The target support at least one target magnet and a hub having a body portion extending along the longitudinal axis. The body portion includes an outer surface and a shaft aperture extending along the longitudinal axis, and further includes at least one threaded body aperture extending from the outer surface to the shaft aperture. The shaft is inserted into the shaft aperture, and a set screw is inserted into one of the body apertures. A torque is applied to the set screw to threadably engage the set screw with the one of the body apertures such that a distal end of the set screw contacts an outer surface of the shaft. The set screw is sealed within the body aperture with a high-temperature potting.

  • Publication number: 20180095118
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for accurately determining the power usage on an unbalanced two phase electrical circuit having both two phase and single phase loads using a single current transformer (CT). The method includes a learning algorithm stored in a memory of a monitoring device, the algorithm configured to be implemented by a processor. The learning algorithm determines whether the CT is monitoring the conductor that supplies the single phase load and alerting the installer if it is not monitoring the conductor supplying the single phase load. Upon determining that the CT is monitoring the conductor that supplies the single phase load the learning algorithm will learn the characteristics of at least the single phase load and store the learned characteristic in a memory associated of the monitoring device.

  • Publication number: 20170240355
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a bin that has a first portion configured to hold at least one item therein and an adjustable second portion. The adjustable second portion is configured to couple with the first portion and slide relative to the first portion between a collapsed position and an expanded position. The collapsed position provides a minimum combined height for the first portion and the adjustable second portion in which the adjustable second portion encapsulates the first portion in order for the bin to be placed inside a receptacle. The expanded position provides a maximum combined height for the first portion and the adjustable second portion in order for the bin to interface with a mechanical device for disposing of the at least one item. The bin also includes one or more holding mechanisms for securing the bin in at least one of the collapsed and expanded positions.

  • Publication number: 20160306817
Abstract: Data storage in a distributed computing system may involve the implementation of key/value stores across multiple storage structures of the distributed computing system, where a key may represent an index and a value may represent an object to store and/or retrieve. A given key/value store may be accessed by multiple compute nodes of the distributed computing system. Duplication and/or versioning may be implemented in or across one or more of the key/value stores.

  • Publication number: 20160258848
Abstract: Provided in this disclosure are methods and compositions that find use in a variety of multiplex cellular/tissue section analyses. In certain aspects, a tissue section (or planar cellular slide) is stained with a combination of “visible” labels and “invisible” labels for specific targets of interest. The visible labels are observed to obtain a result and then, based on the result, one or more of the invisible labels are detected, e.g., using digital microscopy.

  • Patent number: 9433842
Abstract: Improvements in an expandable goal net are disclosed. The expandable goal net is foldable and can be taken from a full size goal to a smaller size that can be easily compacted for transportation. The vertical legs telescope inside each other to essentially reduce the height of the vertical members to essentially half. The horizontal cross posts fold in half thereby to compact the expandable goal net into a vertical folded rectangle. The folding joints are on the horizontal members. Joints lock into a horizontal orientation and can be released to allow the joints to fold essentially 180 degrees. Corners use similar hinged joints that allow the horizontal members to bend to essentially 90 degrees. Vertical members have locking slides that telescope to reduce the total length of the vertical members. The expandable goal net is made from aluminum tubes and formed or molded plastic components.

  • Publication number: 20160221752
Abstract: A storage receptacle can include a storage bin and a pedal mounted to the receptacle. The pedal can rotate downward when pressure is applied in order to pull on a first cable coupled to the pedal. The first cable is connected to a spring, and the spring is connected to a second cable. The second cable connects the spring to a door via an upper pulley of the receptacle. The second cable causes the door to open when the second cable is pulled based on force applied to the pedal. A bottom pulley can be coupled to the pedal via the first cable and configured to translate an upward pull of the first cable to a downward pull of the spring and second cable. The spring controls the motion of the door such that the door does not open too quickly upon a force being applied to the pedal.

  • Publication number: 20160050514
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for dynamically adjusting nodes in a mesh network embedded in objects. The nodes, which are individually capable of sensing and/or transmitting data, are paired together such that when one node is active, the other node is collecting energy via solar, wind, or other energy collecting means. When a node reaches a certain energy level, the nodes can switch status, such that the passive node becomes active and vice versa. Exemplary objects in which the systems can be embedded include benches, receptacles, and light fixtures.
