  • Publication number: 20080011135
Abstract: A knockout driver includes an inner chamber with an actuator mounted for rotational movement therein. A gripper is engaged with the actuator and moves linearly through the inner chamber in response to the actuator being rotated. The rotational movement of the gripper is restricted when the actuator rotates to reduce the amount of torque applied to the user.

  • Publication number: 20070105443
Abstract: An adapter for connecting pullers to conduits of a variety of sizes includes a flexible cable for surrounding the conduit. A surrounding portion of the cable can be adjusted to any desirable length. In one embodiment, the adapter includes a connection plate that has a spring loaded cable connected at one side edge of the plate and a notch at an opposite edge of the plate. The cable includes stop lugs at positions along the cable corresponding to conduits of a variety of sizes. The cable surrounds the conduit and a portion of the cable adjacent to one of the lugs is engaged in the notch. In another embodiment, the connection plate includes a hook at one side edge and a one-way stop mechanism at the opposite side edge. The cable is connected to the connection plate on the hook at one end and the other end of the cable passes through the stop mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20070089580
Abstract: This invention generally relates to enlarging a hole in a substrate such that the enlarged hole is centered on the existing hole. A knock-out punch and die tool for enlarging a knock-out hole in an electrical box includes a punch; a generally cup shaped die; a threaded central shaft supporting the punch on one end and the die on the other end; a removable centering element placed in a cup portion of the die; and a resilient element, such as a spring, urging the centering element in an axial direction along a length of the shaft outwardly of the cup portion. The centering element and the spring may be provided as a retrofitting kit for converting non-centering punch and die tools into centering punch and die tools.

  • Patent number: 7088537
Abstract: Method and apparatus for removing residual magnetization in a data transducer, such as a recording head used to write data to a recording medium in a data storage device. A residual magnetization sense circuit senses a residual magnetization of a pole of the data transducer as a result of the application of a data transmission current to the transducer. A demagnetization current generator removes the residual magnetization by supplying the transducer with a demagnetizing current that decreases to a final magnitude in accordance with a selected profile. The demagnetization current preferably comprises a bi-directional, time varying current of selected frequency to the transducer that tapers linearly, exponentially or in a step-wise fashion to the final magnitude. The demagnetization profile is preferably continuously adapted during operation.

  • Publication number: 20050205284
Abstract: A cover plate for a switch, receptacle or outlet device of a wall is provided with a first plate member having a forward surface. A second plate member is coupled to the first plate member and overlays the forward surface of the first plate member. The second plate member has a different configuration from that of the first plate member so that at least a portion of the forward surface of the first plate member is exposed. The second plate member is visibly distinct from the first plate member. At least one of the first and second plate members has an opening to facilitate access of the device of the wall when the cover plate is mounted thereto.

  • Patent number: 6597584
Abstract: An ejector assembly is provided. The ejector assembly is detachably coupled to a circuit board to allow the circuit board to be locked in a chassis and separated from the chassis. The ejector assembly comprises a base portion and a locking portion. The base portion is rotatably coupled to the circuit board via a connector. The locking portion is capable of locking the circuit board into place when the ejector assembly is moved from a first position to a second position while the circuit board is in the chassis. In an alternative embodiment, the ejector assembly further comprises a holder to hold a number of cables.
