  • Publication number: 20210206016
Abstract: Automated fiber placement (AFP) cutter blade assemblies, AFP cutter systems including the same, and associated methods. An AFP cutter blade assembly includes a blade base and a reversible blade insert configured to be coupled to the blade base in either of a first cutter blade configuration, in which a first cutting edge is an active cutting edge, and a second cutter blade configuration, in which a second cutting edge is the active cutting edge. In examples, an AFP cutter system includes a plurality of AFP cutter blade assemblies in combination with an actuator assembly. In examples, a method of reconfiguring a reversible blade insert of an AFP cutter blade assembly includes uncoupling the reversible blade insert from a blade base, rotating the reversible blade insert relative to the blade base, and operatively coupling the reversible blade insert to the blade base in a different configuration.

  • Publication number: 20210180399
Abstract: A blind system may control (e.g., automatically control) an amount of daylight entering a window on a façade of a building to prevent direct sunlight from shining into the building, while maximizing the amount of indirect sunlight in the building. The blind system may tilt one or more slats into a view tilt position in which the slats are horizontal, a slanted tilt position in which the slats may block direct sunlight from shining into the building, and a privacy tilt position in which the slats are vertical. The drive unit may tilt the slats according to a timeclock having the event times determined from a predicted position of the sun, such that the slats are tilted to the slanted tilt position when the predicted position of the sun indicates that direct sunlight is incident on the façade. A facing direction of the façade may be configured using a mobile device.

  • Patent number: 10992693
Abstract: Detecting emergent abnormal behavior in a computer network faster and more accurately allows for the security of the network against malicious parties to be improved. To detect abnormal behavior, outbound traffic is examined from across several devices and processes in the network to identify rarely communicated-with destinations that are associated with rarely-executed processes. As a given destination and process is used more frequently over time by the network, the level of suspicion associated with that destination and process is lowered as large groups of devices are expected to behave the same when operating properly and not under the control of a malicious party. Analysts are alerted in near real-time to the destinations associated with the activities deemed most suspicious.

  • Patent number: 10949535
Abstract: A set of candidate malicious activity identification models are trained and evaluated against a production malicious activity identification model to identify a best performing model. If the best performing model is one of the candidate models, then an alert threshold is dynamically set for the best performing model, for each of a plurality of different urgency levels. A reset threshold, for each urgency level, is also dynamically set for the best performing model.

  • Publication number: 20210070430
Abstract: A multimode clutch assembly is positioned in a powertrain of a rotorcraft. The clutch assembly includes a freewheeling unit having a driving mode in which torque applied to the input race is transferred to the output race and an overrunning mode in which torque applied to the output race is not transferred to the input race. A bypass assembly has an engaged position that couples the input and output races of the freewheeling unit. An actuator assembly shifts the bypass assembly between engaged and disengaged positions. An engagement status sensor is configured to determine the engagement status of the bypass assembly. In the disengaged position, the overrunning mode of the freewheeling unit is enabled such that the clutch assembly is configured for unidirectional torque transfer. In the engaged position, the overrunning mode of the freewheeling unit is disabled such that the clutch assembly is configured for bidirectional torque transfer.

  • Publication number: 20200402336
Abstract: A method and system are provided in which information about a barcode on a package is received or more generally, information placed on a package by a delivery service (such as a barcode or other code) is detected. Characteristics of the information or code are extracted. The characteristics of the information or code are compared to characteristics of information or code associated with acceptable delivery services. If the characteristics of the code or information on the package correspond to characteristics of the information or code used by an acceptable delivery service, a locked area is unlocked to allow the package to be delivered. In other embodiments, other types of markings may be placed on the package by the delivery service, and storage system may check whether those markings have, or information has, the characteristics of an acceptable delivery service.

  • Publication number: 20200287786
Abstract: A load control system may be commissioned using beacons. The load control system may include control devices that each include a beacon transmitting circuit configured to transmit a beacon that comprises an identifier associated with the control device. A network device, such as a mobile device, may discover a control device based on the beacon received from the control device. In response to discovery of the control device, the control device may be added to a temporary group of control devices for being collectively configured and/or controlled. Control devices may be discovered based on the signal strength at which the beacons are received. The control devices may provide feedback to a user in response to confirmation messages to indicate to a user that the lighting control device has been added to the temporary group. The control devices may stop providing the feedback after they are removed from the temporary group.
