  • Patent number: 11337646
Abstract: An example of a system for providing a patient with pain management includes a pain monitoring circuit. The pain monitoring circuit may include parameter analyzer circuitry and pain score generator circuitry. The parameter analyzer circuitry may be configured to receive and analyze one or more timing parameters and one or more baroreflex parameters allowing for determination of baroreflex sensitivity (BRS) of the patient. The one or more timing parameters are indicative of time intervals during which values of the one or more baroreflex parameters are used to determine the BRS. The pain score generator circuitry may be configured to compute a pain score using an outcome of the analysis. The pain score is a function of the BRS during the time intervals and indicative of a degree of pain of the patient.

  • Patent number: 11306720
Abstract: Rotary positive displacement machines with trochoidal geometry that comprise a helical rotor that undergoes planetary motion within a helical stator are described. The rotor can have a hypotrochoidal cross-section, with the corresponding stator cavity profile being the outer envelope of the rotor as it undergoes planetary motion, or the stator cavity can have an epitrochoidal cross-section with the corresponding rotor profile being the inner envelope of the trochoid as it undergoes planetary motion. In some multi-stage embodiments, the rotor-stator geometry remains substantially constant along the axis of the rotary machine. In other multi-stage embodiments, the rotor-stator geometry varies along the axis of the rotary machine.

  • Publication number: 20220101403
Abstract: Computer vision and image characteristic search is described. The described system leverages visual search techniques by determining visual characteristics of objects depicted in images and comparing the determined characteristics to visual characteristics of other images, e.g., to identify similar visual characteristics in the other images. In some aspects, the described system performs searches that leverage a digital image as part of a search query to locate digital content of interest. In some aspects, the described system surfaces multiple user interface instrumentalities that include images of patterns, textures, or materials and that are selectable to initiate a visual search of digital content having a similar pattern, texture, or material. The described aspects also include pattern-based authentication in which the system determines authenticity of an item in an image based on a similarity of its visual characteristics to visual characteristics of known authentic items.

  • Patent number: 11275553
Abstract: In response to a user interacting with a tangible peripheral assistant control device (e.g., depressing a button of the device), causing an automated assistant to perform one or more actions. The action(s) performed can be based on input previously provided by the user in configuring the peripheral assistant control device. The action(s) performed in response to interaction with the peripheral assistant control device can vary based on one or more conditions, such as which user is currently active, where the peripheral assistant control device is currently located (which can optionally be inferred based on which of multiple assistant computing devices the button is paired with), and/or the current state of one or more smart devices and/or other devices (e.g., as determined based on a device topology). A utility of the peripheral assistant control device can be automatically extended beyond what was specifically requested by a user during configuration.

  • Patent number: 11200611
Abstract: Computer vision for unsuccessful queries and iterative search is described. The described system leverages visual search techniques by determining visual characteristics of objects depicted in images and describing them, e.g., using feature vectors. In some aspects, these visual characteristics are determined for search queries that are identified as not being successful. Aggregated information describing visual characteristics of images of unsuccessful search queries is used to determine common visual characteristics and objects depicted in those images. This information can be used to inform other users about unmet needs of searching users. In some aspects, these visual characteristics are used in connection with iterative image searches where users select an initial query image and then the search results are iteratively refined.

  • Publication number: 20210366205
Abstract: A 3D objects training dataset is augmented by accessing a 3D point cloud representation of an object and by applying an augmentation routine on the point cloud to generate an augmented point cloud. The augmentation routine comprises randomly selecting an execution order of at least one of (i) adding a noise to the point cloud, (ii) applying a geometric transformation on the point cloud and (iii) applying a degradation on the point cloud. The randomly selected execution order of these operations on the point cloud is applied, and the augmented point cloud is added to the objects training dataset. A machine learning algorithm (MLA) is trained by inputting the 3D point cloud representation to generate an output, comparing the output with an expected label associated with the point cloud representation to determine a measure of error on the output, and iteratively adjusting various weights associated with nodes of the MLA.

  • Publication number: 20210285440
Abstract: Rotary positive displacement machines based on trochoidal geometry that includes a helical rotor that undergoes planetary motion relative to a helical stator are described. The rotor can have a hypotrochoidal-based cross-sectional shape, with the corresponding stator cavity cross-sectional shape being the outer envelope of the rotor cross-sectional shape as it undergoes planetary motion, or the stator cavity can have an epitrochoidal-based cross-sectional shape with the corresponding rotor cross-sectional shape being the inner envelope of the stator cross-sectional shape as it undergoes planetary motion. Such machines can be configured so that the stator axis is spaced from the rotor axis, the rotor is configured to spin about its axis and the stator is configured to spin about its axis, and/or the rotor and the stator are held at a fixed eccentricity so that the rotor undergoes planetary motion relative to the stator, but does not orbit.
