  • Patent number: 10661014
Abstract: An injection device for injecting medicament in a patient comprises a housing configured to house a fluid reservoir that has one of a plurality of volumes of medicament. An injection conduit fluidly coupled to the fluid reservoir defines a fluid pathway from the fluid reservoir to the patient. A firing mechanism is coupled to the fluid reservoir and is configured to expel the medicament from the fluid reservoir through the injection conduit. A volume setting mechanism is coupled to the firing mechanism and is configured to select the one of the plurality of volumes of medicament for the firing mechanism to expel. A dose setting mechanism is configured to select all or a fraction of the one of the plurality of volumes of medicament that is injected from the injection conduit when the firing mechanism is actuated.

  • Publication number: 20200118345
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for visualizing nonconformance data for a physical object. An augmented reality application in a portable computing device plots, in a defined coordinate cube, points corresponding to nonconformance locations on the physical object. The augmented reality application determines a sub-set of the points plotted that correspond to a region of the physical object visible in an image of the region of the physical object acquired by the portable computing device at a position of the portable computing device, where the sub-set of the points exclude nonconformance locations occluded from view by a physical object structure of the physical object in the image. The augmented reality application displays the nonconformance data for the sub-set of the points visible in the image in association with a sub-set of the nonconformance locations for the physical object in the image displayed on a display system in the portable computing device.

  • Patent number: 10620830
Abstract: Cohorts may be created on storage nodes in an object-redundant storage system that uses replication and/or a redundant encoding technique. In a cohort with N nodes, M data elements (replicas or shards) of an object are stored to M of the nodes that are selected from the N nodes. Metadata for locating other data elements for an object in the cohort may be stored with one or more of the data elements in the cohort. To reconcile the nodes, common object lists are generated on each node for at least one other node from the metadata, hashes of the lists may be exchanged among the nodes, and the hashes are compared. If the hashes for two nodes differ, specific differences are determined, and a reconciliation process performs reconciliation based on the determined differences.

  • Patent number: 10621055
Abstract: A switching device is implemented in a network-attachable data transfer device to provide data storage access to other such devices. In some embodiments, network-attachable data transfer devices are arranged in a clustered configuration to provide various computational and storage services. When one or more devices of the cluster fails, various implementations associated with the switching device, via an external data interface, provide operational mitigation, optimized data recovery, and efficient reinstatement of normal operation of the cluster.

  • Patent number: 10610133
Abstract: A device may emit a first emission sequence of infrared radiation at a subject, and capture a first reflected sequence of infrared radiation reflected from the subject. The first emission sequence may be compared to the first reflected sequence, and, based on the comparison, a sequence of variations may be determined. The sequence of variations may be compared to a signal pattern stored in a sleep profile for the subject. The subject may be determined to have exhibited a sleep behavior based on the comparison of the sequence of variations to the signal pattern stored in the sleep profile. In response to determining that the subject has exhibited the sleep behavior, the device may capture a second reflected sequence of radiation reflected from the subject. A breathing rate of the subject and/or a heart rate of the subject may be determined based on the second reflected sequence.

  • Patent number: 10608813
Abstract: Techniques for encrypting long-term data using layered encryption based on difficult to obtain secrets are described herein. The set of data to encrypt is designated as the source data for the first iteration. Then, for each iteration, a derived set of data is generated from a set of random data and the source data is combined with the derived set of data to produce a set of encrypted data. The set of encrypted data is then designated as the source data for the next iteration.

  • Patent number: 10592344
Abstract: Erasure encoded fragments are generated by an erasure encoding scheme, represented by an erasure encoding matrix, operating on a data file. A new erasure encoded fragment may be generated from previously-generated erasure encoded fragments without reconstructing the original data file. Available and valid erasure encoded fragments are identified and a set of those fragments is selected. A composite encoding matrix is generated based upon the selected fragments and the fragment specified to be generated. The composite matrix is applied to the selected fragments to produce a plurality of partial sums. The partial sums are then combined to generate the specified fragment. The partial sums may be produced by different devices so as to distribute the computational workload and/or to reduce network traffic. The integrity of a generated fragment may be verified by generating the specified fragment twice, using two different sets of fragments, and then comparing the two results.

  • Patent number: 10592336
Abstract: A multilayered index is implemented for data stored in a data storage system. The multilayered index may include a granular index that specifies the location of specific files or abstractions within the data storage system, while a skip table specifies segments of the abstractions, and may point to both the granular index and the data storage devices of the data storage system. In redundancy coded systems, the use of multilayered indices may enable asynchronous retrieval of data during normal or adverse operation (such as during periods of varying data availability).

  • Patent number: 10589035
Abstract: An injection device for injecting medicament in a patient includes a syringe coupled to a housing and radially retained by a retaining rib. A needle guard is slideably coupled to the housing and spring biased in a distal direction by a return spring. A ram is slideably coupled to the housing and spring biased in the distal direction by a main spring. An initial position is defined by a retaining arm being disposed in the longitudinal path of the ram preventing firing. A released position is defined by the retaining arm being clear from the longitudinal path of the ram allowing the ram to extend distally. A locked position is defined by the retaining arm being disposed in the longitudinal path of the ram and a lock arm of the ram being disposed in the longitudinal path of the needle guard preventing the needle guard from being retracted.

  • Patent number: 10534669
Abstract: A data storage service stores a dataset on a set of storage nodes in accordance with a first encoding. A set of shards constituting quorum, and one or more additional shards, are stored on the storage nodes. The data storage system determines to store the dataset according to a second encoding, in which the second encoding has a greater number of shards. The data storage system reconfigures the storage of the dataset in accordance with the second encoding, such that the reconfigured storage forms additional shards for the second encoding by combining portions of shards of the first encoding.

  • Publication number: 20190373334
Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing an integrated search is provided. An interface is provided that allows users to search and select any data related to a searchable term. Searchable terms may comprise titles of content, actors, and tags. Upon receiving results from the initial search, the user progresses through the initial search by selecting a result from the initial search and conducting a further search of that selection. The search may progress through many layers of searching in order to find information useful to the user and the user may perform actions based upon results of the search. The search implements a display with two columns, the first column displaying selectable data, and the second column displaying results to the selected data. The search is further customizable based upon a privacy level selected by the user.
