  • Patent number: 10974806
Abstract: An aircraft includes the aircraft component. The aircraft component includes an outer skin portion, a plurality of major stiffeners, and a plurality of minor stiffeners. The outer skin portion has an interior side and an exterior side configured to define an exterior boundary of the aircraft. The major stiffeners are integral with the outer skin portion and extend out from the interior side. The major stiffeners are configured to resist global deflection of the aircraft component in response to a bird strike on the aircraft component. The minor stiffeners are disposed between the major stiffeners, are integral with the outer skin portion, and extend out from the interior side. The minor stiffeners are configured to resist perforation of the aircraft component in response to the bird strike on the aircraft component.

  • Patent number: 10977379
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques implemented partly by a service provider to monitor a cloud-based service by generating and placing canary records in storage locations along with real records to identify improper access events of the records or other data. The service provider may detect an access event where records in a storage location were accessed, and determine whether a canary record was accessed. If a canary record was accessed, the service provider may determine that the access event was potentially performed by a malicious entity because authorized users generally may not have reason to access a canary record when utilizing their cloud-based service. The service provider may generate canary records that are difficult to identify by a malicious entity, and may position canary records in the storage locations to help ensure that the canary records are accessed by a malicious entity during an improper access event.

  • Publication number: 20210097078
Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media for defining and executing functions for determining a matching entity that is relevant to an entity of interest when, for example, there is a significant number of intermediary links and entities between the matching entity and the entity of interest. A visual depiction of a path traversal from a seed input entity to an output matched entity can be presented to an end user in a manner that allows the end user to ascertain the sequence of intermediary links and entities that connect the matched entity to the seed entity.

  • Publication number: 20210077715
Abstract: The invention relates to a splint for an infant. It has a body including an insert of a malleable material, wherein the body has a longitudinal axis, a first arm extending from an edge of the body in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis; and a second arm, spaced apart from the first arm, extending from the edge of the body in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The arms wrap around the limb of the infant and provide a surface for using medical tape or the like, thus avoiding the need for the tape to come into contact with the skin of the infant. In addition, the malleable insert allows the splint to be deformed and hold its shape if the splint is to be used on a joint of the limb.

  • Publication number: 20210055490
Abstract: The high-density FAU comprises a support substrate having a grooved front-end section that supports glass end sections of the small diameter low-attenuation optical fibers. A cover is disposed on the front-end section and secured thereto to hold the glass end sections in place. The substrate and the cover can be made of the same glass or glasses having about the same CTE. The glass end sections have a diameter d4 so that the pitch P2 of the fibers at the front end of the FAU can be equal to or greater than d4, wherein d4=2r4, with r4 being the radius of the glass end section as defined by the optical fiber cladding. The glass end section has a radius r4 less than 45 microns, allowing for a high-density FAU and a high-density optical interconnection device.

  • Patent number: 10923986
Abstract: A magnetic anti-lock device for a rotating shaft is described. The magnetic anti-lock device utilizes opposing magnets to reduce the varying force required to rotate the shaft and increases efficiency of the rotating shaft. The magnetic anti-lock device includes at least one inner magnet attached to the rotating shaft, and at least one outer magnet fixed in position relative to the rotating shaft. The inner magnet passes the outer magnet each time the shaft rotates creating a repulsive force to reduce the force necessary to rotate the shaft.

  • Patent number: 10803017
Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems and methods for tracking local and remote file usage, and aggregating the resulting file usage statistics for presentation to a user. The operating system of a local computer can track and generate local file usage statistics, such as most recently used files and editing time. A Web application or service, such as an email or word processing application or service, can record the file usage data for a user's remote stored or served files. A file usage aggregator module, which can be located or resident in the operating system of the local computer or hosted at a Web site, can receive and combine the local and remote file usage statistics. The file usage aggregator module can generate a display of the aggregated file usage statistics, so that local and remote files are listed in a most-recently used order, on a combined basis.

  • Patent number: 10781677
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, systems and methods for safely, and cost-effectively activating a mechanical perforator using a pyrotechnic initiated hydrostatic activating mechanism. The mechanism includes a piston connected to a power rod. The piston is activated by the rupturing of a disc, which separates a first chamber from a second chamber containing the piston. Upon rupturing of the disc, wellbore fluids fill the second chamber forcing the piston to move from a first position to a second position, which causes activation of the mechanical perforator. The first chamber may optionally be filled with a pressurized gas, such as nitrogen or air, to add a boost assist to activation of the piston.
