  • Publication number: 20180105383
Abstract: A diverter conveyor includes a frame supporting an upper conveyor that has an upstream end and a downstream end and that is configured to carry sheets in a first, downstream, direction. A plurality of nip rollers are mounted on the frame upstream of the upstream end of the upper conveyor and are spaced from the upstream end of the upper conveyor by a gap. The nip rollers feed the sheets along a main path to the upstream end of the upper conveyor. A rejection conveyor is supported by the frame and has a portion beneath the gap and extends away from the upper conveyor at an acute angle. A plurality of paddles are mounted at the first gap, and an actuator is operably connected to the paddles and configured to shift the paddles from a first position out of the main path to a second position in the main path.

  • Patent number: 9945194
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a Top Drive Pipe Spinner (TDPS). The TDPS is a tool that allows for the setting of casing without a specialized crew or any additional power source. By employing the weight of the existing top drive to set slips below the casing collar and on the pipe, the TDPS allows one casing to be threaded onto the next in a timely and efficient manner. The casing tongs of the TDPS use passive release weight to release the casing collar from the casing to allow for the successive insertion of another casing section. The top drive spins the TDPS and compresses the unit onto the casing, then lifts the unit and releases the casing when desired.

  • Patent number: 9917549
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, the gain expansion in low power mode of a single chain PA is minimized by dynamically adjusting the output impedance of the bias circuit of each gain stage for each mode of operation. Instead of switching in a series attenuator or switching in additional feedback in the first gain stage of a single-chain PA to limit the gain at the increased quiescent current level, this embodiment achieves linear performance by adjusting the quiescent current in each stage to the minimum level that meets the target gain and then increasing the output resistance of the bias circuit of each gain stage in low power mode (LPM) to provide the appropriate level of negative feedback at the base of each amplifying HBT to linearize the gain versus power response.

  • Publication number: 20180067641
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure include a virtual wall having a plurality of media, as referred to as entries or media items. The system lays out the entries horizontally and vertically in the virtual wall. In the virtual wall, many carousels, or horizontal strips of pages, are stacked vertically, and gestures are detected to move vertically, from one horizontal strip to the next above or below. To navigate the display to the next carousel, the client device receives a user input to navigate between carousels, and transitions between the currently displayed media item to a media item in a different carousel. To navigate to the next media item within a carousel, the client device receives a user input to navigate between media items within a carousel, and transitions between the currently displayed media item and a next or previous media item within the carousel.

  • Publication number: 20180062274
Abstract: In certain exemplary embodiments, register banks are used to allow for fast beam switching (FBS) in a phased array system. Specifically, each beam forming channel is associated with a register bank containing M register sets for configuring such things as gain/amplitude and phase parameters of the beam forming channel. The register banks for all beam forming channels can be preprogrammed and then fast beam switching circuitry allows all beam forming channels across the array to be switched to use the same register set from its corresponding register bank at substantially the same time, thereby allowing the phased array system to be quickly switched between various beam patterns and orientations. Additionally or alternatively, active power control circuitry may be used to control the amount of electrical power provided to or consumed by one or more individual beam forming channels such as to reduce DC power consumption of the array and/or to selectively change the effective directivity of the array.

  • Publication number: 20180033341
Abstract: A system and method for detecting tampering with a seal is provided. A loop seal tamper indicating device includes a seal wire that may be passed through a secured item or container to form a loop with the free ends of the seal wire passing through a seal housing. A plunger body including an adhesive-filled cavity is inserted into the seal housing, such that a piston expresses the adhesive into the space between the seal housing and the plunger body. The adhesive may contain reflective particles and is cured to fix the particles and the adhesive in place. A reference image may be taken to record the unique identifier and reflective signature of the adhesive. Future validation images may be compared to the reference image to determine whether the reflective signature has changed, thus indicating that the seal has been tampered with.

  • Publication number: 20170345227
Abstract: A vehicle assessment analyzer is in communication with a vehicle, via the vehicle network computer and the vehicle communication bus. The vehicle assessment analyzer obtains the vehicle VIN from the vehicle and transmits the VIN to a vehicle assessment analytics server. The vehicle assessment analytics server then determines assessment readings to be performed on the vehicle, such as individual electronic sensors therein, to generate an overall vehicle assessment as compared to other vehicles of similar make, model, etc. These assessment readings are sent to the vehicle assessment analyzer which obtains the associated data and transmits the data back to the server for generation of the overall vehicle assessment. The assessment readings may query the vehicle network computer via standard assessment readings, and heightened assessment readings, and may also query the vehicle communications bus directly thereby obtaining any desired electronic information available from the vehicle.
