Abstract: A caul for debulking a composite part broadly includes opposing first and second surfaces, a plurality of through-holes, and a coating. The first surface may have a curvature complementary to a shape of the composite part. The through-holes pass through the caul from the first surface to the second surface. The coating may be a chemically inert material to ensure the caul does not affect the composite part. The caul is configured to be positioned against the composite part for debulking. The caul may be made out of silicone rubber or any other suitable material and may be reusable.

  • Patent number: 11193042
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a method for creating a chemically structured surface with structural elements as small as 1 nm, on a material that does not itself display a high degree of ordering, using thin molecular layers that minimize the material added through the coating. In particular, the present invention discloses a method for assembling a chemical pattern on a surface, comprising pattern elements with scales that can be as small as 1 nm, and then transferring that pattern to another substrate, on which the pattern would not form natively. In the described method, the patterned monolayer is comprised of polymerizable amphiphiles such as diyne phospholipids or diynoic acids, which are transferred from the ordering substrate using a transferring material such as poly(dimethylsiloxane).

  • Publication number: 20210362541
Abstract: A wheel lug nut locking attachment, lug nut position locator device, or lug nut locking device is provided, wherein the attachment or devices include a thermochromic material which provides an indication of excess heat generation in the wheel assembly of a tractor trailer. A warning system to alert an operator of the present of excess heat in the wheel assembly is provided. In a preferred embodiment, the device also acts to lock a wheel lug nut to an adjacent wheel lug nut, so as to prevent or reduce rotation of the wheel lug nut. A plurality of thermochromic lug nut locking devices can be fitted to a single wheel so that all of the lug nuts are operatively locked to an adjacent lug nut. The resulting locking system can be rapidly installed on each lug nut on all wheels, so as to provide improved vehicle safety aspects.

  • Patent number: 11176209
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system and computer program product for improving query searches. After receiving a query from a user to conduct a content search, the query is analyzed for its semantic meaning and a categorized group of query tags and content tags in the central repository that is most semantically similar in meaning to the meaning of the query is identified. Furthermore, the content tags and query tags in the user's repository are analyzed to determine the interests of the user. The query may then be augmented to include one or more other terms of interest from the identified categorized group of query tags and content tags in the central repository that match the determined interests of the user within a threshold degree of relatedness, where these other terms of interest correspond to the content tags and query tags of the identified categorized group based on their assigned weight.

  • Patent number: 11176090
Abstract: A computer-implemented method according to one embodiment includes performing a first process for each chunk of data of each file of a snapshot of a file system. The first process includes reading a given chunk of data of a given file of a first snapshot of the file system, and reading shadow records of a shadow file of the first snapshot. The given chunk of data is compared with the shadow records for determining whether a coherent state exists between the given chunk of data and one or more of the shadow records that were recorded in a snapshot creation window. In response to determining that no coherent state exists, an indication is recorded that the given chunk of data is corrupt. In response to determining that a coherent state exist, an indication is recorded that the given chunk of data is accurate.

  • Publication number: 20210292678
Abstract: Compositions and methods are provided that generated a persistent low-friction coating on a solid surface, by application of a mixture of a polyethylene glycol-containing surfactant and a vegetable to the surface. The coating thus generated does not require replenishing during use and persists through rinsing and multiple uses. Surprisingly, markedly reduced friction is found when the surfactant is provided at 3% w/v to 7% w/v in the composition. Such compositions and methods are suitable for application to both mixing and separation operations. Formulation of such compositions with food grade components permits use in food processing.
