  • Patent number: 11439388
Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a body, a shaft assembly, a stapling head assembly, an anvil, an anvil adjustment assembly, a trigger, and a lockout assembly. The stapling head assembly is operable to drive an annular array of staples. The anvil is configured to couple with the stapling head assembly. The anvil adjustment assembly includes a translating member, which translates relative to the body to thereby adjust the longitudinal position of the anvil relative to the stapling head assembly. The trigger is operable to actuate the stapling head assembly to thereby drive the annular array of staples through a distal surface of the stapling head assembly toward the anvil. The lockout assembly includes an electrically powered braking feature. In a first state, the lockout assembly is configured to permit translation of the translating member. In a second state, the lockout assembly is configured to prevent translation of the translating member.

  • Patent number: 11441189
Abstract: In general, the presently disclosed technology relates to identification of cancer subtypes. More specifically, the technology relates to methods for determining molecular drivers of cancer and/or progression using a multivariate image data and statistical analysis of in-situ molecular markers and morphological characteristics in the same cells of a biological sample suspected of b cancer. This analysis takes place after a single acquisition that obtains the molecular and anatomic morphology data in parallel. The analysis compares specific morphological and molecular markers to known samples exhibiting particular genetic drivers of the cancer. This method provides statistical information that allows for an increased confidence in the identification of specific molecular drivers of the cancer.

  • Publication number: 20220284027
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for modifying input and output (I/O) to an object storage service by implementing one or more owner-specified functions to I/O requests. A function can implement a data manipulation, such as filtering out sensitive data before reading or writing the data. The functions can be applied prior to implementing a request method (e.g., GET or PUT) specified within the I/O request, such that the data to which the method is applied may not match the object specified within the request. For example, a user may request to obtain (e.g., GET) a data set. The data set may be passed to a function that filters sensitive data to the data set, and the GET request method may then be applied to the output of the function. In this manner, owners of objects on an object storage service are provided with greater control of objects stored or retrieved from the service.

  • Publication number: 20220260135
Abstract: A method of operating a dual bidirectional input to single bidirectional output transmission is disclosed. The method includes providing said transmission. The method includes activating a computer controller capable of receiving torque data signals from a first bidirectional torque input, a second bidirectional torque input, and a single bidirectional torque output. The method includes determining torque input from said first and second bidirectional torque input, and determining whether to transmit torque to said single bidirectional torque output. In cases where it is so determined, the method involves transmitting torque to said single bidirectional torque output.

  • Patent number: 11416628
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for modifying input and output (I/O) to an object storage service by implementing one or more owner-specified functions to I/O requests. Different data manipulation functions can be placed in different I/O paths depending on the request method or user access level. For example, a user having full access may be returned the unaltered version of the object, whereas a user having modified or reduced access may be returned a modified or redacted version of the object. In this manner, owners of the object collection are provided with greater control over how the object collection is accessed.

  • Publication number: 20220249088
Abstract: A surgical circular stapler has a handle assembly, a shaft, a stapling assembly, and a firing assembly. The shaft extends distally from the handle assembly. The stapling assembly is secured to a distal end of the shaft. Longitudinal translation of the firing assembly causes the stapling assembly to drive a plurality of staples in a circular array to secure two lumens of tissue together. The stapling assembly may further drive a blade to sever any excess tissue interior of the circular array of staples. The stapler further includes a lockout assembly configured to control firing of the stapling assembly. The lockout assembly may include one or more switches, the actuation of which is configured to prevent or permit firing of the stapling assembly. The lockout assembly may additionally or alternatively include one or more mechanical lockout features configured to control firing of the stapling assembly.

  • Publication number: 20220245522
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for employing selective compression for addressing congestion control for Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads. Multiple interconnected compute nodes are used for performing an AI workload in a distributed environment, such as training an AI model. Periodically, such as following an epoch for processing batches of training data in parallel, the compute nodes exchange Tensor data (e.g., local model gradients) with one another, which may lead to network/fabric congestion. Compute nodes and/or switches in the distributed environment are configured to detect current or projected network/fabric congestion and to selectively apply variable rate compression to packets containing the Tensor data to alleviate/avoid the congestion. Tensor data may be selectively applied at source compute nodes by computing a network pause time and comparing that time to a compression compute time.

  • Patent number: 11394761
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for providing input data to and reading output data from one or more owner-specified functions. A function can implement a data manipulation, such as filtering out sensitive data before reading or writing the data. Input data can be provided to the function as an entire object, a stream of objects, or on-demand based on data or portions thereof that the function attempts to access. The function can provide output data as a single instance of output data or a stream of output data regardless of the manner in which input data is provided to the function. The input data can be stored in a staging area that is accessible to the function via a local file system. Similarly, the function can store the output data in a staging area that is accessible to the function via a local file system.
