  • Patent number: 8210385
Abstract: A container lid retaining system includes a housing with a bottom wall and a perimeter wall attached to and extending upwardly from the bottom wall. The perimeter wall has an upper edge defining an opening extending into the housing. A cover is removably positioned on the perimeter wall to selectively close the opening. A flexible tether has a first end and a second end. The tether extends through the perimeter wall adjacent to the upper edge to position the first end within the housing. The tether extends through the cover to position the second end under the cover when the cover is positioned on the housing. A panel is attached to the first end to prevent the first end from is pulled through the perimeter wall. A stop is removably coupled to the tether adjacent to the second end to prevent the second end from being pulled through the cover.

  • Patent number: 8026306
Abstract: Described are compositions and methods effective to improve the security obtainable for red phosphorescent inks printed, such as by ink jet printing. Specially designed polymeric chelating agents are water soluble and have a high chelating efficiency for lanthanide cations and are themselves strongly adsorbed on polymeric substrates, especially paper. The polymeric chelating agents comprise a polymer chain of either general formulae (1) or (2) containing pyridine-N-oxide, quinoline-N-oxide or isoquinoline-N oxide pendent ligand groups A, where m and n are independent integers in the range of from 1 to 10, and the number average molecular weight of the polymers lies in the range from 1×103 to 5×105: In one aspect a polymeric chelate as described is produced in situ in an aqueous ink formulation and is subsequently printed onto a substrate and dried.

  • Publication number: 20090153291
Abstract: A real estate security system is described wherein access to a lockbox, that houses a key, causes automatic notification to an owner/occupant associated with the property. Such a communication can be used to alert the owner/occupant that a real estate showing is started or completed, that a friend or family member arrived home safely, that a property management accessed the house, or that emergency personnel accessed the house. The lockbox can include additional features that cause notification to the owner, such as automated sensing of tampering with the lockbox, or depressing a button on the lockbox to generate a signal to the owner/occupant of the property.

  • Patent number: 7212675
Abstract: A method of processing the contents of an image which are digitized and formatted into macro blocks (MB) of information. The method involves flagging for further use those macro blocks whose contents satisfy a first criteria. Further processing of the method is performed only using the status of each macro block, either flagged or unflagged, and ignoring the contents. Unflagged blocks adjacent flagged blocks are investigated using a testing protocol and using a second criteria to determine if they should also be flagged. The status of an unflagged block meeting the second criteria is changed from unflagged (“O”) to flagged (“1”). The method converts unflagged orphan macro blocks which should have been identified using the first criteria into flagged macro blocks. These are combined with the original set of flagged macro blocks to determine the entire set of macro blocks whose contents are to be used in subsequent processing.

  • Patent number: 7116353
Abstract: A digital video recording system (10) includes a video camera (12) directed at a scene of interest to continuously view the scene and generate video images (F) of the scene. An image processor (14) is configured to compare the video image (F) with a previously established reference image (Fr) of the scene to determine if changes have occurred. The image processor includes a memory (20) in which portions of video images (F) are stored, together with the time and date information as to when the image was acquired. A video playback capability (30) allows the memory to be accessed to retrieve the portions of the video images for image reconstruction. The playback system enables the memory to be accessed at any desired date and time location so an image of interest can be reconstructed without having to scan stored video images in a date/time sequence. Accessing the memory is done without interrupting the image processor's processing of currently acquired video images.

  • Patent number: 7065186
Abstract: The present invention allows Internet instant messaging to be accessed via a telephone. Instant messaging access from any telephone in the world may be provided via a telephone messaging system. Alternatively, access can be embodied independently as a stand-alone telephone service, for example provided by a telephone company, provided by a company network, or provided by a user's personal IVR service implemented on his PC. An advantage of the present invention is providing simple, cost effective and readily available access to data network instant messaging from a telephone.
