  • Publication number: 20160174911
Abstract: Infusion systems, infusion devices, and related operating methods are provided. An exemplary method of alerting a user associated with an infusion device delivering fluid to the body of the user involves obtaining a first value for a physiological condition being influenced by the fluid, determining a metric corresponding to a future physiological condition of the user based at least in part on the first value, and automatically generating a first alert based on the metric. After automatically generating the first alert, the method continues by obtaining a second value for the physiological condition of the user and automatically clearing the first alert based at least in part on the second value.

  • Patent number: 9368676
Abstract: A diode comprises nanowires compositionally graded along their lengths with an active region doped with gadolinium sandwiched between first and second compositionally graded AlxGa1-xN nanowire regions. The first graded AlxGa1-xN nanowire region is graded from gallium-rich to aluminum-rich with the compositional grading defining n-type polarization doping and the aluminum-rich end proximate the active region. The second graded AlxGa1-xN nanowire region is graded from aluminum-rich to gallium-rich with the compositional grading defining p-type polarization doping and with the aluminum rich end proximate the active region. The active region may include a GdN layer sandwiched between AlN layers, or an Al1-yGdyN layer with y?0.5.

  • Publication number: 20160108504
Abstract: A method for desensitizing an aluminum alloy is presented. A desired location on the surface of an aluminum alloy sample is exposed to a controlled pulsed electron beam. The pulsed electron beam heats a shallow layer of the metal alloy having a desired depth at the desired location on the surface of the sample to a temperature between a solvus temperature and an annealing temperature of the metal alloy to controllably reduce a degree of sensitization of the metal alloy sample at the desired location, an extent of a reduction in the degree of sensitization being controllable by varying at least one of a voltage, a current density, a pulse duration, a pulse frequency and a number of pulses of the electron beam.

  • Patent number: 9269136
Abstract: Embodiments relate to replicating a key from an image of the key when the key is unavailable to replicate the key from the key itself. In a first embodiment, a key blank of the key is generated when an end image of the end of the key is rotated to create a mirror image of the end image so that an outline of the mirror image is similar to a corresponding keyhole. A key blank generating machine generates a key blank of the key from the mirror image. In a second embodiment, a replica of the key is cut from the key blank when the maximum depths of cuts in the key image are measured. A bitting number database is queried for bitting numbers that correspond to the measured maximum depths. The bitting numbers are provided to a key machine to cut the key blank to generate a replica.

  • Patent number: 8605097
Abstract: A method and system are implemented for verifying connection status information associated with a specific display attachment location. Specifically, one embodiment of the present invention sets forth a method, which includes the steps of receiving a first signature representative of a first set of connection states tracked by a graphics subsystem associated with the display attachment location, authenticating whether the integrity of a content path including the display attachment location is maintained based on the first signature, and deciding whether to continue sending the content to the display attachment location so that requirements associated with protecting the content are satisfied.

  • Publication number: 20130207075
Abstract: A nanowire comprises a polar semiconductor material that is compositionally graded along the nanowire from a first end to a second end to define a polarization doping profile along the nanowire from the first end to the second end. The polar semiconductor material may comprise a group IH-nitride semiconductor, such as an alloy of GaN and AlN, or an alloy of GaN and InN. Such nanowires may be formed by nucleating the first ends on a substrate, growing the nanowires by depositing polar semiconductor material on the nucleated first ends on a selected growth face, and compositionally grading the nanowires during growth to impart the polarization doping. The direction of the compositional grading may be reversed during the growing of the nanowires to reverse the type of the imparted polarization doping. In some embodiments, the reversing forms n/p or p/n junctions in the nanowires.
