  • Publication number: 20220167802
Abstract: A dispenser bottle containing liquid may be mounted to a wall by a mounting assembly including a base and a carriage plate. A mounting bracket may be anchored to the wall and the carriage plate is coupled to the mounting bracket and is spring biased toward an extended configuration relative to the mounting bracket. A release pin maintains the carriage plate and base in a retracted configuration. A collar projects from an upper end of the mounting bracket to capture a neck of the bottle. A projection extends upwardly from the base and into a socket on the bottom of the bottle when seated on the base. The combination of the mating socket and projection at the base and the collar around the neck of the bottle inhibits removal of the bottle from the mounting assembly when in the retracted configuration. The bottle may be conveniently removed from the mounting system by depressing the release pin thereby freeing the carriage plate to slide upwardly relative to the mounting bracket into an extended configuration.

  • Patent number: 11305887
Abstract: A system and method that detect situation awareness failures in operators of remotely operated vehicles and consequently alert the operators and/or activate a fail-safe mode in the vehicles to reduce potential for an accident. Real-time values of indicators displayed on a control station are periodically stored in a database and compared to inspected values of each indicator stored when the operator last viewed each indicator to determine if there is a difference representing an operator's level of awareness. An eye-tracking system is used to monitor the operator's point-of-gaze and awareness of each indicator. If there is a difference beyond an acceptable level of deviation between the real-time value and the inspected value, the system alerts the operator and/or commands the remotely operated vehicle to commence a fail-safe operation.

  • Patent number: 11102975
Abstract: A rodenticide composition is described along with a method for using the same to exterminate rodents. The composition features a mixture of a dehydrant for causing dehydration in a rodent, a water-absorbent, hygromorphic carrier for absorbing water and expanding after consumption by the rodent, and a flavoring composition. The carrier can be a source of cellulose or a non-cellulosic material. After consumption of the composition by a rodent, the dehydrant and carrier cause the rodent to experience dehydration. The rodenticide composition may also include an irritant that causes digestive stress to the rodent, which further stresses and dehydrates the rodent. Once the rodenticide composition is prepared, it may be placed in areas frequented by or infested with rodents so as to kill the rodents once they consume the composition. One or more flavorings, coloring agents, and weather resistant materials may also be added to the composition.

  • Patent number: 10517304
Abstract: A rodenticide composition is described along with a method for using the same to exterminate rodents. The composition features a mixture of a dehydrant, a composition for producing endogenous gas, a dietary emulsifier, a hypercalcemia promoter, and a source of cellulose. After consumption of the composition by a rodent, the dehydrant and source of cellulose cause the rodent to experience dehydration, while the endogenous gas produced by the composition causes bloating and increased digestive stress. The dietary emulsifier and hypercalcemia promoter cause digestive stress, which reduces the rodent's desire to feed and quickens dehydration and death. Once the rodenticide composition is prepared, it may be placed in areas frequented by or infested with rodents so as to kill the rodents once they consume the composition. One or more flavorings, coloring agents, and weather resistant materials may also be added to the composition.

  • Patent number: 10499677
Abstract: Compositions and methods are described that promote health and increase a shelf-life of foods. The compositions may feature mixtures of fatty acids, vegetable gums, and oligosaccharides. When introduced into a food article, the compositions can act as a protective barrier for micronutrients, phytochemicals, and nutraceuticals such as may be found in food products, for example food additives, as the food products are stored and as the food products are being digested. The compositions can stabilize food products during prolonged storage and as ingested food products move through the digestive tract so that nutrients are available for absorption in a consumer's intestines. Methods for producing food additives using the compositions are also described.

  • Publication number: 20190144846
Abstract: By this invention, for the first time, a method for high-efficiency site-specific genetic engineering, utilizing either native or heterologous CRISPR-Cas9 systems, in the anaerobic bacterium Clostridium pasteurianum, is provided. Application of CRISPR-Cas9 systems has revolutionized genome editing across all domains of life. Here we report implementation of the heterologous Type CRISPR-Cas9 system in Clostridium pasteurianum for markerless genome editing. Since 74% of species harbor CRISPR-Cas loci in Clostridium, we also explored the prospect of co-opting host-encoded CRISPR-Cas machinery for genome editing. Motivation for this work was bolstered from the observation that plasmids expressing heterologous cas9 result in poor transformation of Clostridium. To address this barrier and establish proof-of-concept, we focus on characterization and exploitation of the C. pasteurianum Type CRISPR-Cas system.
