Publication number: 20090164641Abstract: A method and network architecture through which user-specific media profile data can be made available to third parties. A browser is optionally enhanced to facilitate playback and control of one or more media players, thereby allowing the user to play content via the browser. As the user plays content in the browser or any of the media players, information is collected about the content and stored in a database. By monitoring all media-related interactions made by the user within the browser, the collected content information can encompass information from a wide range of sources. User-specific profile data is then determined based on the collected data and such user-specific profile data is made available to third parties. The user-specific profile data can be used, for example, for social networking purposes, and may also be used to drive advertisements or other content to the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2007Publication date: June 25, 2009Applicant: Yahoo! Inc.Inventors: Ian C. Rogers, Matthew Kozlov

Publication number: 20090100151Abstract: A real-time locater for digital media objects, related to one or more creative compositions and accessible over a network, is described. A service-provider maintains a master index of the digital media objects. The master index is organized by considering each media object to be an example of a primary attribute associated with the media object by a multitude of users. The reference is constructed as a data structure of primary attributes and means of locating the media objects as instances of primary attributes. Each such media object may be further categorized by associating it with one or more secondary attributes. The data structure is augmented to provide for efficient location of media objects by relating secondary attributes.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2007Publication date: April 16, 2009Applicant: Yahoo! Publication number: 20090100062Abstract: A real-time locater for digital media objects, related to one or more musical compositions and accessible over a network, is described. A service-provider maintains a master index of the digital media objects and a playlist-resolver server. The master index is organized by considering each media object to be an example of a primary attribute associated with the media object by a multitude of users. The reference is constructed as a data structure of primary attributes and means of locating the media objects as instances of primary attributes. The playlist-resolver works with the master index to translate a list of references to creative works into a series of successful accesses to the corresponding media object files.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2007Publication date: April 16, 2009Applicant: Yahoo! Publication number: 20090031482Abstract: A protective sport helmet, such as for lacrosse, includes a hard shell portion, a lining portion, and an adjustment mechanism. The inner side of the adjustment mechanism includes an adjustment protective pad. Together, the lining portion and the inner surface of the adjustment protective pad define an interior region of the helmet wherein the user's head is introduced. The adjustment mechanism includes a lower rear shell portion having a clutch mechanism that allows the user to manually adjust the size of the interior region via a strapping system of the helmet to couple snugly around the user's head. The clutching mechanism can prevent the interior region from being easily altered in the absence of manual adjustment to the adjustment mechanism. The strap includes a hard end material that engages the adjustment mechanism and a flexible, durable and tough material that conforms to a wearer's head.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2008Publication date: February 5, 2009Applicant: Warrior Sports, Inc.Inventors: Peter L. Patent number: 7407416Abstract: A multi-stage, multi-pole connector provides improved connectivity with electronic devices having mating receptacles of differing form factors. In one aspect, the connector includes a hollow base plug portion, a hollow tip plug portion, and a series of conductive lines extending within the base plug portion and the tip plug portion. Both the base plug portion and the tip plug portion share the same longitudinal axis and are each formed with one or more discrete conductive contacts electrically isolated from one another. The tip plug portion extends axially from the base plug portion and has a smaller outside diameter along the length of the tip plug portion than the average outside diameter along the length of the base plug portion. This configuration causes the connector to step down in form factor to a smaller cross-sectional size moving from the base plug portion to the tip plug portion.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2006Date of Patent: August 5, 2008Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Frederick C. Publication number: 20080181216Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for an optimized mobile-IPv6 encapsulation. A mobile node sends packets to a correspondent node by encapsulating a packet using an IPv6 routing extension header, and reverse tunneling the packet to a home agent. The home agent modifies the packet and forwards it to the correspondent node. When the correspondent node sends packets to the mobile node's home address, the home agent intercepts the packet, encapsulates the packet with an IPv6 routing extension header, and tunnels the packet to the mobile node. Consequently, because packets are tunneled using IPv6 routing extension headers, the amount of overhead in each encapsulated packet is reduced, thus increasing the available bandwidth in a network.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 30, 2007Publication date: July 31, 2008Applicant: Sprint Spectrum L.P.Inventors: Jeremy R. Breau, Frederick C. Rogers
