  • Patent number: 9769113
Abstract: Systems and methods for assigning unique network identifiers in a packet-switched wireless network are provided. A request for a unique network identifier for a wireless device is received. A socket-based unique network identifier, including an IP address and one or more ports, is assigned to the wireless device. The unique network identifier is created by combining an IP address and one or more ports. This allows multiple unique network identifiers to be created from a single IP address, where each unique network identifier consists of the same IP address combined with a different group of one or more ports.

  • Patent number: 9736216
Abstract: A method and network architecture through which user-specific media profile data can be made available to third parties. A browser is optionally enhanced to facilitate playback and control of one or more media players, thereby allowing the user to play content via the browser. As the user plays content in the browser or any of the media players, information is collected about the content and stored in a database. By monitoring all media-related interactions made by the user within the browser, the collected content information can encompass information from a wide range of sources. User-specific profile data is then determined based on the collected data and such user-specific profile data is made available to third parties. The user-specific profile data can be used, for example, for social networking purposes, and may also be used to drive advertisements or other content to the user.

  • Publication number: 20170220555
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for narrative content generation using narrative frameworks by receiving a first phrase variation and a second phrase variation and displaying an error indication when the first phrase variation fails to satisfy a criterion relative to the second phrase variation. If there is an error indication, alternate phrase variations are received and compared against the first phrase variation until an alternate phrase variation is selected that has no error indication. Additionally, multiple sets of operators for updating one or more narrative phrases selected for inclusion in the narrative content framework may be utilized to update selected phrases after inclusion in the narrative framework but prior to finalizing the narrative content to be output.

  • Patent number: 9717294
Abstract: A hinge mechanism for attaching ear accessories to a helmet allows an accessory to be attached at a point outside the helmet shell utilizing, for example, a slidable mounting rail, and to reach under the edge of the helmet shell so that the accessory is supported in contact with the wearer's head. The hinge mechanism is well suited for use in connection with military helmets that have a “bulge” or protrusion over the ear.

  • Publication number: 20170080645
Abstract: In various embodiments, a method of making a cutting mat backing includes creating a roving by wrapping a fiber material around a rotary cylinder under tension to form a plurality of layers. Each of the plurality of layers is angled with respect to a central axis of the rotary cylinder and the roving has a normalized axial flexural rigidity of from 2 lbf.in2 to 30 lbf.in2 over a beam width of 1 inch and a ratio of normalized circumferential flexural rigidity to normalized axial flexural rigidity of from 1:1 to 30:1. The method further includes infusing the roving with a polymer resin and curing the resin via electromagnetic radiation to form the cutting mat backing. Cutting mats including the cutting mat backing are also described.

  • Patent number: 9584590
Abstract: A software based system for facilitating streaming of media files to a device over a wide area network (WAN) includes an agent process, an authentication process, a client services process and a client process. The agent process catalogs local media files and advises the authentication process of it's availability on the WAN and the address at which it may be contacted. The client process contacts the client services process to obtain, after authenticating with it, the WAN address of the agent process and contacts the agent process to receive information or meta-data describing the media files available for streaming. The client process obtains information for forming a URI or playlist, that it then passes to a media player to request the stream over the WAN. Alternately, the client process may direct the agent process to pass the URL to another client process on, for example, the same local area network.

  • Publication number: 20160361943
Abstract: The current invention is a non-lethal personal defense combination of tactical pen and spray dispenser that has the writing capabilities of a pen and ability to use one end as a window breaker. The tactical pen body is made of aircraft aluminum or similar durable material for strength and textured in the middle for extra grip when striking the assailant. On one end, the spray nozzle swivels open, similar to tops of spray-on sunscreen, to protect from accidental dispense and the ability to unlock with one hand. The embodiment's clip is configured to secure to any material that would give the user quick access, such as jacket, shirt or pant pockets, purse or a vehicle visor.

  • Patent number: 9515990
Abstract: Methods are described for communicating a reregistration timer to a mobile device. A request is received from a mobile device to establish an IP communication session so that the mobile device is able to communicate by way of a wireless communication network. An allocation component assigns an IP address to the mobile device, in addition to a lifetime value that indicates a length of time after which the IP communication session expires. A threshold value is determined, which is a length of time prior to the expiration of the IP communication session when the session is to be renewed to avoid expiration. Based on the lifetime value and the threshold value, an existing lifetime timer is set and communicated to the mobile device, along with the assigned IP address.

  • Patent number: 9463603
Abstract: A non-pneumatic tire and wheel assembly is fabricated by forming inner and outer mold elements having apertures to receive casting blocks. A tread having an inner wall is prepared for casting and fill apertures are machined in a rim of a metal wheel. The tread, the outer mold element, the wheel, the inner mold element and the rubber casting blocks are assembled and an elastomer is introduced into the mold assembly through fill tubes inserted in the fill apertures of the wheel. The elastomer is allowed to cure at room temperature to form a tire body element and the rubber casting blocks and inner and outer mold elements are disassembled. A post-cure of the disassembled tire body element is accomplished at a high temperature.
