Patent number: 12002610Abstract: Systems and methods for reclaiming and remagnetizing permanent magnet motors such as may be used in electric submersible pumps. In one embodiment, a method includes removing a permanent magnet rotor assembly from a motor and heating the rotor to burn off the residual oil and evaporate water in between laminations of the rotor and on the rotor surface. The rotor should be heated to a temperature that is above a flashpoint of oil on the rotor and below a Curie temperature of a material of a set of permanent magnets in the rotor (e.g., at least 600° F. for at least 12 hours). The heating may partially or fully demagnetize the permanent magnets in the rotor. The exposed surfaces of the rotor are then cleaned and the permanent magnets in the rotor are remagnetized using a specialized magnetizing fixture.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2022Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations LLCInventors: Yong Li, Howard G. Patent number: 12000478Abstract: A method of controlling a four wheel drive (4WD) low range shift in a vehicle is provided. The vehicle has a powertrain including a transmission that drives a transmission output shaft to provide drive torque to a driveline including a power transfer unit (PTU) that delivers torque to front drive wheels and a rear differential unit (RDU) that delivers torque to rear drive wheels. The PTU and RDU are selectively rotatably coupled to each other through a propeller (prop) shaft. The PTU and the RDU are commanded into a neutral position. A clutch at the RDU is commanded to selectively engage to a degree that communicates a desired amount of torque from the prop shaft to the RDU. A determination is made that an output speed of the transmission output shaft is synchronized to match a speed of the RDU and the RDU is commanded to shift into 4WD low.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2023Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: FCA US LLCInventor: Frank C Thompson, IV

Patent number: 12000894Abstract: Systems and methods manage use of rechargeable battery power of Information Handling Systems (IHSs). In managing power draws from the batteries of an IHS, use of software applications of the IHS is monitored and use is detected of a software application that has been designated as prioritized for use of the IHS batteries. A power throttling factor is selected for use in drawing power from the rechargeable batteries of the IHS while the prioritized software application remains in use. The selected power throttling factor is transmitted to an embedded controller of the IHS and the embedded controller is notified when the prioritized software application is no longer in use by a user of the IHS. The embedded controller receives the power throttling factor and, while the prioritized software application remains in use, the embedded controller limits power drawn from the IHS rechargeable batteries according to the power throttling factor.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2021Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: Dell Products, L.P.Inventors: Richard C. Publication number: 20240159184Abstract: The testing of various chemicals has yielded new chemicals and chemical mixtures for the use of removing carbon deposits from the internal combustion engine. Some of these chemicals and chemical mixtures have proven to work better across many different carbon types than other chemicals that were tested. These chemical terpenes are typically produced from plants. One standard terpene mixture is known as turpentine. The chemical turpentine and chemicals found in turpentine have been determined, through our research and testing, to be extremely effective at removing the carbon that is produced within the internal combustion engine.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 19, 2024Publication date: May 16, 2024Inventors: Bernie C.
