  • Publication number: 20170277965
Abstract: A method for mapping a sensor pixel array to an illumination pixel array according to a surface forms a group mapping by assigning each pixel in a on the sensor array to a group that has a group width defined by p adjacent pixels on the illumination pixel array by projecting and recording a first and a second multiple group index image with a first and second pattern of lines. Lines appearing in both first and second pattern are spaced by a first distance that is a first multiple of group width p, and lines that appear only in either pattern are evenly spaced by a second distance that exceeds the first distance. A subset of p multiline images are projected, each projecting a line within each group. Lines in one of the multiline images are correlated with lines from the group index images to generate the group mapping.

  • Patent number: 9765703
Abstract: A torque requesting module generates a first torque request for a spark ignition engine based on driver input. A torque conversion module converts the first torque request into a second torque request. A setpoint control module generates air and exhaust setpoints for the spark ignition engine based on the second torque request. A model predictive control (MPC) module identifies sets of possible target values based on the air and exhaust setpoints, generates predicted parameters based on a model of the spark ignition engine and the sets of possible target values, respectively, selects one of the sets of possible target values based on the predicted parameters, and sets target values based on the possible target values of the selected one of the sets. A throttle actuator module controls opening of a throttle valve based on a first one of the target values.

  • Patent number: 9728145
Abstract: A method performed by a processor of a electronic device, including rendering (402), on an electronic display, a line segment having a first direction and moving in a second direction. The method also includes a step of determining (404) whether the direction of the line segment (the first direction) is in the same direction that the line segment is moving (the second direction). If the processor determines that the line segment is not moving in the same direction of the direction of the line segment (the first direction), then the processor performs (408) a first action, such as adjusting the color intensity of the line segment. If the processor determines that the line segment is moving in the same direction of the direction of the line segment (e.g., the two directions are substantially parallel to each other), then the processor performs (406) a second action.

  • Publication number: 20170178963
Abstract: A double sidewall image transfer process for forming FinFET structures having a fin pitch of less than 40 nm generates paired fins with a spacing determined by the width of a sidewall spacer that forms a second mandrel. Here, the fin pairs are created at two different spacings without requiring the minimum space for the standard sidewall structure. An enlarged space between paired fins is created by placing two first mandrel shapes close enough so as to overlap or merge two sidewall spacer shapes so as to form a wider second mandrel upon further processing. The fin pair created from the wider second mandrel is spaced at about 2 times the fin pair created from the narrower second mandrel. For some circuits, such as an SRAM bitcell, the wider second mandrel can be utilized to form an inactive fin not utilized in the circuit structure, which can be removed.

  • Publication number: 20170168802
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to pushing data updates to client computing devices (“clients”) in real-time. Clients can obtain data from a data storage layer by sending queries to the data storage layer that will return data compatible with the client's local data model. These queries are stored in a database and the identifier for the query (“query ID”) is used instead of the query itself. In the query stored in the database, a marker is used as a proxy for a content ID of the content to be retrieved. When querying, both the query ID and the content ID are passed to the data storage layer. The query stored with the query id is loaded, the marker is substituted with the content ID, and then executed.

  • Patent number: 9675428
Abstract: In an exemplary method for obtaining a contour image of a tooth, which can be executed at least in part by a computer, movement of an intra-oral camera can be detected by acquiring a first video image frame that includes the tooth and processing the first video image frame to detect one or more edges of the tooth in the first video image frame and acquiring a second video image frame that includes the tooth and processing the second video image frame to detect the one or more edges of the tooth in the second video image frame. The method can compare corresponding edge locations between the first and second processed video image frames and projects a fringe pattern illumination onto the tooth from the camera, capturing and storing one or more still images of the fringe pattern according to the detected camera movement.

  • Publication number: 20170122235
Abstract: A system according to the principles of the present disclosure includes a model predictive control (MPC) module and an actuator module. The MPC module generates a set of possible target values for an actuator of an engine and predicts an operating parameter of the engine for each of the possible target values. The MPC module determines a weighting value associated with each of the target values based on a corresponding iteration number and determines a cost for the set of possible target values based on the predicted operating parameters and the weighting values. The MPC module selects the set of possible target values from multiple sets of possible target values based on the cost and sets target values to the possible target values of the selected set. The actuator module controls an actuator of an engine based on at least one of the target values.

  • Patent number: 9639143
Abstract: A method and apparatus for interfacing dynamic hardware power managed blocks and software power managed blocks is disclosed. In one embodiment, and integrated circuit (IC) may include a number of power manageable functional units. The functional units maybe power managed through hardware, software, or both. Each of the functional units may be coupled to at least one other functional unit through a direct communications link. A link state machine may monitor each of the communications links between functional units, and may broadcast indications of link availability to the functional units coupled to the link. Responsive to a software request to shut down a given link, or a hardware initiated shutdown of one of the functional units coupled to the link, the link state machine may broadcast and indication that the link is unavailable.

  • Publication number: 20170106368
Abstract: Apparatuses, components, methods, and systems for interrogating samples are provided. An example system includes a flow cell. An example flow cell includes an aperture, an inlet chamber, and a sample injector positioned within the inlet chamber. An example sample injector is configured to generate a sample stream that flows in biased proximity to a profile included in the inlet chamber. An example method includes the steps of causing sheath fluid to flow into an inlet chamber and through an aperture, injecting sample into an inlet chamber with a sample injector to form a sample stream that is entrained in the sheath fluid, and interrogating the sample stream as the sample stream passes through an interrogation region within the aperture. An example sample injector includes an outlet that is disposed in an off-center position within the inlet chamber.
