  • Patent number: 10341907
Abstract: A communication management resource receives first input registering user equipment to use wireless network services of a first wireless network and a second wireless network. The communication management resource receives second input from the user equipment registering the user equipment to use voice services. In response to receiving a phone communication indicating a corresponding phone call, the communication management resource selects a transport protocol from multiple possible transport protocols to establish a communication session between the communication management resource and the user equipment. The communication management resource initially establishes a communication link or communication session for the corresponding phone call over the first wireless network between the user equipment and the communication management resource using the selected transport protocol.

  • Publication number: 20190199363
Abstract: A master/slave configuration of a frequency locked Loop (FLL) decouples the process, target voltage, temperature (PVT) tracking goals of locking the loop from adapting the clock frequency in response to voltage droops in the supply. A master oscillator circuit receives a regulated supply voltage and supplies a master oscillator signal. A control circuit supplies a master frequency control signal to control a frequency of the master oscillator signal to a target frequency. A slave oscillator circuit is coupled to a regulated supply voltage and a droopy supply voltage and supplies a slave oscillator signal having a frequency responsive to a slave frequency control signal that is based on the master frequency control signal. The frequency of the second oscillator signal is further responsive to a voltage change of the droopy supply voltage.

  • Patent number: 10304506
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing dynamic clock control to increase stutter efficiency in a memory subsystem are disclosed. A system includes at least a processor, a memory, and a communication fabric coupled to the processor and memory. The system implements a stutter mode for a first region of the fabric, with stutter mode including an idle state and an active state. Stutter efficiency is defined as the idle time divided by the sum of the active time and the idle time. Reducing the exit latency of going from the idle state to the active state increases the stutter efficiency which increases the power savings achieved by implementing the stutter mode. Since the phase-locked loop (PLL) is one of the main contributors to the exit latency, the PLL is powered down and one or more bypass clocks are provided during the stutter mode.

  • Publication number: 20190141624
Abstract: According to one configuration, a shared wireless access node supports wireless access for multiple wireless network service providers. A mobile communication device receives notification of multiple wireless network service providers, each of which provides access to a remote network through the shared wireless access node. The notification includes connection information such as priority information assigned to the wireless network service providers. The priority information indicates an order in which to select amongst the multiple available wireless network service providers to access the remote network. Based at least in part on the priority information, the mobile communication device selects a wireless network service provider amongst the multiple wireless network service providers.

  • Publication number: 20190133725
Abstract: A method for imaging a tooth surface, the method executed at least in part on a computer, directs an excitation signal toward the tooth from a scan head and obtains a depth-resolved response signal emanating from the tooth, wherein the response signal encodes tooth surface structure information. Liquid and tooth surfaces are segmented from the depth-resolved response signal. The tooth surface structure information is adjusted based on the segmented liquid. A 3D image of the tooth is reconstructed according to the depth-resolved response signal and the adjusted tooth surface structure information. The 3D image content is displayed, stored, or transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20190117075
Abstract: An optical apparatus has an OCT imaging apparatus with a first light source for low coherence light of wavelengths above a threshold wavelength and a signal detector that obtains an interference signal between low coherence light from the sample and low coherence light reflected from a reference. A surface contour imaging apparatus has a second light source that emits one or more wavelengths of surface illumination below the threshold wavelength, a camera to acquire images from illumination reflected from the sample and a probe that has a raster scanner wherein the low coherence light and the surface illumination share the same path from the raster scanner to the sample. A processor coordinates activation of the light sources, actuation of the scanner, and acquisition of data and the camera and follows instructions to display, store, or transfer images from the acquired data.

  • Publication number: 20190116108
Abstract: System utilization related to memory usage can be monitored by storing host memory usage information in the corresponding host physical memory. However, retrieving this information can be a high overhead operation because it involves engaging with the operating system of each host. Moreover, storing memory usage information in the host physical memories can pose a security risk if they also store privileged data. Network interfaces according to the present disclosure provide unobtrusive and secure support for monitoring of network and other system resources such as regions of memory within host physical memories. Implementations according to the present disclosure include a plurality of memory region counters stored on a network interface. Each memory region counter corresponds to one of the memory regions located in a physical memory of a host coupled to the network interface. Each of the counters includes a system utilization metric associated with its corresponding memory region.

  • Publication number: 20190114321
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods are provided for improved generation and control of conversations. A computing device is utilized to control or simulate conversation using estimated contextual cues extracted from profile information or prior responses. The computing device is configured to automatically tailor a flow of a conversation to an effort to improve relevancy and engagement without the need of a human operator to manually tailor the conversation, which, for example, could be impractically expensive. A structured workflow is maintained in the form of a series of conversation decisions, and a machine learning engine is utilized to maintain a continuously trained data structure that generates predictions that bias conversation decisions (e.g., by weighting tree options) for tailoring the conversation flow.

  • Publication number: 20190098624
Abstract: A network includes a first candidate pool of multiple upper-layer communication processing units and a second candidate pool of lower-layer communication processing units to support the split-layer processing. Initially, a first upper-layer processing unit and a first lower-layer processing unit in the network provide a first service over a wireless communication link established between a wireless access point and a communication device in a network. In response to receiving a request to support a second service, the network notifies the first upper-layer processing unit of the second service. If a combination of the first upper-layer processing unit and the first lower-layer processing unit cannot support the second service, the first upper-layer processing unit selects a second upper-layer processing unit. The selected second upper-layer processing unit selected from the first candidate pool is used in conjunction with the first lower-layer processing unit to support the second service.

  • Publication number: 20190090309
Abstract: According to one configuration, a mobile communication device receives first communications over a first wireless communication link from a first wireless network (which potentially supports data only communications). The first communications received over the first wireless network can include a message indicating a pending incoming call available over a second wireless network (which potentially supports voice/call communications). In response to receiving the message indicating the pending incoming call, the mobile communication device is operated to receive second communications (such as a paging signal) from over the second wireless network. For example, the mobile communication device listens for a paging signal from the second wireless network further indicating the pending incoming call. If desired, an operator of the mobile communication device can accept the incoming call via a second wireless communication link to the second wireless network.

  • Patent number: 10223606
Abstract: A method for mapping a sensor pixel array to an illumination pixel array according to a surface forms a group mapping by assigning each pixel in a on the sensor array to a group that has a group width defined by p adjacent pixels on the illumination pixel array by projecting and recording a first and a second multiple group index image with a first and second pattern of lines. Lines appearing in both first and second pattern are spaced by a first distance that is a first multiple of group width p, and lines that appear only in either pattern are evenly spaced by a second distance that exceeds the first distance. A subset of p multiline images are projected, each projecting a line within each group. Lines in one of the multiline images are correlated with lines from the group index images to generate the group mapping.
