  • Patent number: 9758136
Abstract: A powered hand brake for locomotive brakes that latches a brake chain into a locked position after the brake cylinder has applied the locomotive brakes. A computer controlled brake system may be interconnected to the brake cylinder and the latch and programmed to set the latch into the latched position when the brake cylinder has moved the locomotive brake into the applied position. An actuator is coupled to the brake chain to take up slack in the brake chain as the brake chain moves between the first and second positions. The actuator can comprise a motor or a tensioning cylinder that takes up slack in the brake chain after the brakes have been applied. Alternatively, the actuator may comprise a linkage connecting the brake chain to the locomotive brake so that the slack in the brake chain is taken up as the brakes are applied.

  • Patent number: 9757284
Abstract: A method of making an absorbent composite that includes a first fabric, a second fabric, and particles positioned between the two fabrics and absorbent articles made from the absorbent composite. The particles are secured between the two fabric using adhesive, thermal plastic or combinations thereof. The fabrics are bonded together in a manner that limits particle movement between the fabrics. The bond pattern may define pockets or other shapes. In applications in which the bond pattern forms pockets, the particles may be positioned in the pockets. The particles may be SAP particles or other particles with advantageous properties.

  • Publication number: 20170251759
Abstract: The disclosure relates to articles and components thereof, including outsoles, which can be used in conditions normally conducive to the accumulation of soil. In particular, the disclosure relates to articles and components thereof with a material including a hydrogel, where the hydrogel-containing material defines an external surface or side of an article. The hydrogel-containing material can prevent or reduce the accumulation of soil during use. A portion of the hydrogel-containing material is embedded into a substrate body, or a portion of the hydrogel-containing material is disposed on the outer side surface of the substrate body in a junction. The substrate body can have a lip extending from a shaft such that the shaft and the lip form the junction. • Publication number: 20170234097
Abstract: A wellhead capable of steering fluid flow to minimize contact with equipment in the wellbore comprises a central bore and a plurality of side bores coupled to injection ports. The plurality of side bores comprise a rifled internal surface having a circular or helical configuration into which fluids can be injected. The side bores intersect with the central bore at a mixing chamber, which also comprises a rifled internal surface. By injecting fluids into the wellbore through these ports, the operator can create a vortex utilizing the full capacity of the wellhead while minimizing contact with any wireline equipment.
