  • Publication number: 20140282624
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method, system, and article of manufacture of a processing pipeline with caching at one or more internal stages for altering processing steps, useful for handling responsive inspection and analysis of high energy security images. A set of particular steps useful for data, image, and X-ray analysis are presented. Several nonlinear processing pipeline architectures comprised of particular useful arrangements of processing steps and features are described: an architecture for conducting radiographic image inspections, an architecture for inspecting/analyzing multiple related imaging modalities (such as X-ray digital radiography (DR) and material discrimination (MD)) in a unified manner, and an architecture for reconstructing computed tomography (CT) X-ray images. In addition, graphical user interface (GUI) facets are described which map to pipeline parameters to control the processing steps and arrangements responsively and intuitively.

  • Patent number: 8004535
Abstract: A method of generating displayable content is provided. The method includes obtaining a display package having a plurality of display elements defining a plurality of display frames. The method further includes rendering at least one selected group of the plurality of display elements. Each selected group is based on indicator information in the display package and comprises less than all of the plurality of display elements. Further included is saving a copy of each rendered selected group in a second display buffer. The method further includes rendering at least one display frame within the plurality of display frames such that at least a portion of the at least one rendered display frame comprises the saved copy of at least one rendered selected group. Further included is saving the at least one rendered display frame in a first display buffer that is different from the second display buffer.

  • Patent number: 7908595
Abstract: Described are various methods and apparatuses for automatic updating of variables in a data language. A dynamic variable is updated by parsing an instruction written in the data language containing the dynamic variable, creating the dynamic variable in memory, assigning a value for the dynamic variable, and updating the dynamic variable value without parsing the instruction written in the data language containing the dynamic variable. The dynamic variable may also be updated by creating an object associated with the dynamic value, wherein the object determines the value of the dynamic variable. Further, an observing a function value may be associated with the dynamic variable and then a notification is given to the object when the function value has changed.

  • Patent number: 7610561
Abstract: Described are various methods and apparatuses for fine grained control of z-order elements in a presentation. A structure is defined containing user interface elements and an order is defined for rendering such user interface elements. It is desired that some elements may need to be rendered out of the defined order, therefore a raise user interface element is defined allowing for one or more user interface elements to be defined to be rendered out of the normally defined order. User interface elements may something to be presented on a display and may also include program code for defining behaviors.

  • Publication number: 20080282142
Abstract: There is provided a user interface which is defined by a plurality of actors and the attributes) that are associated with the actors. A renderer is used to render the user interface in accordance with the attributes of the actors. Changes in actor attributes, for example in response to a keypress, cause the user interface to be updated.

  • Patent number: 7250866
Abstract: A deactivator having a deactivation antenna coil and a capacitor to store energy. The deactivator converts the stored energy to an alternating current over a deactivation period to generate a deactivation magnetic field when driven through the deactivation antenna coil during the deactivation period. The alternating current defines a ring down envelope during the deactivation period. An energy recovery module having an electrical impedance is coupled to the deactivator to recover a portion of the energy converted to the alternating current during a portion of the deactivation period based on the impedance. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 6864792
Abstract: An electronic key capable of reinitializing or resetting a security disabled electronic article surveillance (EAS) device is provided. The electronic key can be a secure, portable, and battery powered for initializing a secured EAS system's security protocol to factory default state, or to another preselected state. The key has its own set of security protocols to prevent unauthorized use and can easily be reprogrammed for a wide variety of other functions including, but not limited to, firmware upgrading, diagnostic testing, and the like. The key can be connected to the programming port of an EAS device and perform a preset reprogramming operation, resetting activated security features. The key could be purchased for customer use, and would be secured by preselecting the total number of uses, such as one use. The one-time use would begin once the key is activated. Activation of the key is also uniquely controlled to prevent its misuse.
