  • Publication number: 20040046664
Abstract: An electronic key capable of reinitializing or resetting a security disabled electronic article surveillance (EAS) device is provided. The electronic key can be a secure, portable, and battery powered for initializing a secured EAS system's security protocol to factory default state, or to another preselected state. The key has its own set of security protocols to prevent unauthorized use and can easily be reprogrammed for a wide variety of other functions including, but not limited to, firmware upgrading, diagnostic testing, and the like. The key can be connected to the programming port of an EAS device and perform a preset reprogramming operation, resetting activated security features. The key could be purchased for customer use, and would be secured by preselecting the total number of uses, such as one use. The one-time use would begin once the key is activated. Activation of the key is also uniquely controlled to prevent its misuse.

  • Patent number: 5809930
Abstract: A flagpole rotation device comprised of an upper collar having two U-shaped portions. The two U-shaped portions are adapted for securement around a flag pole. The two U-shaped portions are tightly secured around the flagpole. The device contains a rotator portion having two U-shaped portions. The two U-shaped portions have inner nylon surfaces. The two U-shaped portions are adapted for securement around the flag pole. The two U-shaped portions are loosely secured around the flagpole. The rotator is disposed on the flagpole beneath the upper collar. The device contains a lower collar having two U-shaped portions. The two U-shaped portions are adapted for securement around a flag pole. The two U-shaped portions are tightly secured around the flagpole. The lower collar is disposed on the flagpole beneath the rotator. A tie-off cleat is secured to the outer surface of the rotator portion. The tie-off cleat serves for securement to a lanyard attached to a flag.

  • Patent number: 4858099
Abstract: A resonant inverter is current mode-controlled with a transistor supplying current through a primary winding of a transformer. The cycle of operation includes conducting, resonating, and clamping portions of the cycle, with the transistor being turned on for the conducting portion. The resonating portion includes a storage capacitor connected to the primary winding and commences when current-responsive means of the transistor or first semiconductor turns on a second semiconductor, which in turn turns off the first semiconductor. During this resonating stage, the current in the primary winding reverses and stores energy in a storage capacitor. A clamping portion of the cycle includes a unidirectional conducting means or diode which conducts for a time for the excess energy stored in the tank circuit to return to the input and be stored in a filter capacitor.
