  • Patent number: 5227049
Abstract: A blood treatment apparatus having a circuit for circulating blood outside the body and designed to be connected to a patient via a single needle, including a blood treatment device such as a heamodialyzer, pumps for causing blood to flow through the circuit, a first blood expansion chamber located in the circuit upstream of the blood treatment device for temporarily storing a volume of blood to be treated, a second blood expansion chamber located downstream of the blood treatment device for temporarily storing a volume of treated blood, first and second pressure regulators, connected to the first and second blood expansion chambers, for adjusting pressure in the blood expansion chambers, and a controller for interacting with the regulators to maintain a substantially constant pressure in each of the first and second chambers during a treatment session.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 9, 1991
Date of Patent: July 13, 1993
    Assignee: Hospal Industrie
Inventors: Jacques Chevallet, Jean-Claude Riquier, Carl-Henry rndal, Allan Petersen
  • Patent number: 4797655
Abstract: Apparatus for monitoring fluid flow in dialysis systems include a tube holder for mounting the tube at a predetermined location on a dialysis monitor, a transmitter for transmitting a signal such as ultraviolet light through that location, a receiver for receiving the signal after it has passed through that location, and a sensor for sensing whether the tube is mounted at that location and whether the fluid is contained within the tube in response to the signal received by the receiver.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 23, 1987
Date of Patent: January 10, 1989
    Assignee: Gambro AB
    Inventors: Carl-Henry Orndal, Bengt-Ake G. Gummesson, Bjorn-Inge Ericson
  • Patent number: 4532590
Abstract: A data processing system which handles thirty-two bit logical addresses which can be derived from either sixteen bit logical addresses or thirty-two bit logical addresses, the latter being translated into physical addresses by unique translation means. The system includes means for decoding macro-instructions of both a basic and an extended instruction set, each macro-instruction containing in itself selected bit patterns which uniquely identify which type of instruction is to be decoded. The decoded macro-instructions provide the starting address of one or more micro-instructions, which address is supplied to a unique micro-instruction sequencing unit which appropriately decodes a selected field of each micro-instruction to obtain each successive micro-instruction. The system uses hierarchical memory storage using eight storage segments (rings), access to the rings being controlled in a privileged manner according to different levels of privilege.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 21, 1982
Date of Patent: July 30, 1985
    Assignee: Data General Corporation
Inventors: Steven Wallach, Kenneth D. Holberger, Steven M. Staudaner, Carl Henry

  • Patent number: 4329178
Abstract: A method in the manufacture of steam-cured light-weight aerated concrete having hydrophobic properties, comprising preparing an aqueous expandable and solidifiable slurry, one or more hydraulic binders and one or more silica-containing materials casting the slurry in a mould; expanding and solidifying, and optionally cutting the solidified slurry; and steam-curing the resultant light-weight aerated concrete, wherein prior to casting said slurry it is admixed with silicone oil in a quantity of 0.05-0.50%, calculated on the dry weight of the starting mixture.

  • Patent number: 4065810
Abstract: A method for accessing and storing data in randomly assigned storage locations in a memory associated with a processor under the control of external circuits connected to the processor I/O bus, said external circuits being provided with registers for storing several assigned addresses in the memory which contain the starting addresses in the memory of a control list stored in a plurality of sequential addresses and five or more storage areas, each including a plurality of contiguous storage locations and further provision being made within the said processor for incrementing the addresses stored in the said assigned addresses each time they are accessed for performing a reading or writing operation in the memory location designated therein.
