  • Publication number: 20150343066
Abstract: The present invention provides a gel combination comprising: polycarbophil in an amount comprised from 1 to 5% by weight; polyvinylpirrolidone in an amount comprised from 4 to 8% by weight; glycerine in an amount comprised from 1 to 10% by weight; and propyleneglycolin an amount comprised from 20 to 40% by weight; wherein: the weight ratio between polyvinylpirrolidone:polycarbophil is comprised between 1:1 and 4:1, the weight ratio between glycerine:polycarbophil is comprised from 0.5:1 to 2:1, and the weight ratio propyleneglycol:polycarbophil is comprised from 8:1 to 20:1. The invention also provides transparent compositions comprising such gel combinations as well as processes for their preparation and the use thereof as a medicament. Due to the specific excipients, % by weight, and weight ratios forming the combination, the resulting compositions show a high bioadhesivity and bioavailability of the active ingredient, without toxic adverse effects.

  • Patent number: 9157848
Abstract: A method and system is provided to detect deformations on a sheet metal panel. The method includes swiping the sheet metal panel's surface through a screening material to screen the deformations present on the sheet metal panel's surface, thereby establishing screened deformations. Further, rubbing an area around the screened deformations through a stone material determines the size of the screened deformations. Finally, measuring the size of screened deformations according to a measuring rule establishes a nature of the screened deformation.

  • Patent number: 9125647
Abstract: A method and device to elevate retainers on a suture thread to a desired angle such that the retainers can retain the desired elevation. The retainers can be elevated using an apparatus having at least one roller and at least one bending bar, wherein the bending bar contacts the retainers adjacent to the at least one roller to apply a force to the retainers. The retainers can also be elevated using a tube-shaped apparatus. A suture can be made up of an inner core and a coating that upon a stimuli increases the protrusion of the retainers away from the suture core. A coating can be inserted into the cut associated with the retainer and repulsive or expansive forces result in a pushing out of the cut and distending of the retainers away from the suture core.

  • Publication number: 20150216570
Abstract: A bone fracture plate assembly including female and male plate portions. The female plate portion has a post, a female dovetail, and an extending arm with a group of ratchet teeth. The male plate portion has two upstanding posts, a male dovetail for coupling to the female dovetail so that the plate portions move linearly with respect to each other, a slot for the arm, and a pawl for engaging the ratchet teeth. A spring, coupled to the posts of the plate portions, dynamically connects the plate portions by applying a compressive load therebetween. The spring has a pair of elongated ears, each defining a slot to allow for relative movement of the plate portions. The ratchet teeth are engaged by the pawl to retain the plate portions together, and the spring mounts on the posts of the plate portions such that the spring biases the plate portions together.

  • Publication number: 20140324662
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided, which facilitate the integration of energy trading, transmission management and scheduling. The systems and methods facilitate the posting of bids and offers to buy and sell energy or capacity, allow users to view the bids and offers of others, negotiate the details of bids and offers, and permit deal formation for the purchase and sale of bids and offers. The disclosure also facilitates issuing proposals and counteroffers to enter into deals for power transmission. The disclosure also enables the scheduling of transmission including facilitating communication with various other systems. The disclosed systems and methods further enable the creation, modification and storing of transmission paths for recall and then evaluation in the scheduling of transmission path. The systems and methods are linked to and receive input from various sources of data and may facilitate two way communication with other systems in order to enable certain functionality.

  • Publication number: 20140229394
Abstract: The invention provides a method of automatically attributing energy and Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) to contractual and market obligations. The input of energy and RECs will automatically fit into existing data models, allowing immediate attribution upon upload. The invention will immediately calculate the energy balance of the input, accounting for such factors as resource generation, energy inputs, native load, station service, and obligations. Users can specify numerous energy and REC sources to be attributed simultaneously, such attribution happening according to either system or user-defined attribution policies. The invention allows users to manipulate the data to best facilitate use of their RECs, displaying REC positions over user-specified periods of time.

  • Publication number: 20140199337
Abstract: The present invention is based on the surprising finding that H5 protein of clade 1 H5N1 induces, in particular by a single-shot vaccination, a cross-clade protective immune response to influenza viruses with H5N1 HA. In one aspect, the invention is thus directed to H5 protein of clade 1 H5N1 virus for use in a method of treating or preventing infections with H5N1 virus of a different clade, namely of a clade different from clade 1 or from any clade with the exception of clade 1, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20140067693
Abstract: A method for deploying a product through multiple phases includes defining work streams for deploying the product, where each work stream is defined for a set of components of a client environment. For each work stream and for each phase, a set of predefined tasks are identified for the phase, a computer processor gathers for the phase a set of instruments specific to the work stream for performing the set of predefined tasks, and the set of instruments are stored in a data repository of a deployment framework. The set of predefined tasks for the phase is common amongst the work streams.
