  • Patent number: 7176717
Abstract: A programmable logic structure is disclosed that has a set of dedicated lines which extend internally throughout different dedicated logic cells within a logic and routing block (LRB), extend from a previous logic routing block to the present logic and routing block, or extend from the present logic and routing block to the next logic and routing block. One set of dedicated lines from a first logic and routing block can be stitched to another set of dedicated lines of a second logic and routing block for extending the reach as well as bypassing a logic and routing block, or bypassing a dedicated logic cell in the same logic and routing block. The dedicated lines between logic and routing blocks allow a logic and routing block to receive more inputs from its own switch box or to drive more outputs than provided by the logic and routing block as specified by a given function.

  • Patent number: 7175376
Abstract: The present invention mainly aims to provide cutting method and cutting apparatus for manufacturing a guide rail of a rolling guide device by efficiently cut-working a long scale hardened steel. In order to achieve such object, there is provided a cutting method of linearly cutting a work surface (3) of the long scale hardened steel (2) along the longitudinal direction thereof. In this process, it is desired to arrange a plurality of CBN tools (7) along the longitudinal direction of the long scale hardened steel (2) to thereby sequentially cut the work surface (3). Furthermore, a cutting apparatus of the present invention comprises a fixing device (4) for fixing the long scale hardened steel (2), a tool rest (5) which is guided by a guide device (6) disposed along the longitudinal direction of the fixing device (4) and the CBN tool (7) cut-working the work surface (3) of the long scale hardened steel (2) held by the tool rest (5).

  • Publication number: 20070028694
Abstract: A structurally tuned, vibration-based component checking system for detecting anomalies in a component of an assembly prior to the component being installed in the assembly is provided. The component checking system operates the component being tested at a speed that is different from the speed at which the component operates during normal use in the assembly, and also under a different load. To compensate for this difference in speed and load, the component checking system is structurally tuned such that a relationship exists between the modal frequencies and speed of operation of the component checking system and the modal frequencies and speed of operation of the assembly.

  • Publication number: 20070030807
Abstract: A method and system for combining requests for data bandwidth by a data source for transmission of data over a wireless communication medium is provided. A central node receives one or more bandwidths requests from one or more data sources via wireless communication. A scheduler then combines one or more bandwidths requests from the same data source to create a single data burst bandwidth. The central node then grants the data burst bandwidth to the appropriate data source via wireless communication.

  • Patent number: 7173905
Abstract: A connection with a mobile node is established. A registration request is received and a tunnel identifier determined. The tunnel identifier is independent of (i) a home address of the mobile node and (ii) an address of a home agent for the mobile node. The registration request is transmitted to the home agent, and the registration request includes the tunnel identifier. A response to the request is received and, responsively, a connection is activated. Data packets are received from the home agent in response to transmitting the registration request. The data packets include the tunnel identifier. The connection is identified using the tunnel identifier and the packets are routed along the connection.

  • Publication number: 20070026652
Abstract: A CMOS device formed with a Silicon On Insulator (SOI) technology with reduced Drain Induced Barrier Lowering (DIBL) characteristics and a method for producing the same. The method involves a high energy, high dose implant of boron and phosphorus through the p- and n-wells, into the insulator layer, thereby creating a borophosphosilicate glass (BPSG) structure within the insulation layer underlying the p- and n-wells of the SOI wafer. Backend high temperature processing steps induce diffusion of the boron and phosphorus contained in the BPSG into the p- and n-wells, thereby forming a retrograde dopant profile in the wells. The retrograde dopant profile reduces DIBL and also provides recombination centers adjacent the insulator layer and the active layer to thereby reduce floating body effects for the CMOS device.

  • Publication number: 20070028323
Abstract: A bidirectional module for activation of gene expression and regulation of transcription in both directions is disclosed. The bidirectional module comprises multiple cis regulatory DNA sequence elements, strategically arranged to give a ‘Transcription Activating Module’ that achieves high level expression from a ‘Transcription Initiation Module’. The latter functions like a minimal promoter. The former activates transcription simultaneously in both the directions from the latter and also responds to several transcription inducing, external stimuli in both the directions. Since it is an artificially designed bidirectional transcription module, it has no equivalent DNA sequence in plant genome. This reduces the chances of the genes from being silenced by homology based mechanisms. A bidirectional promoter module as this, can therefore be used to develop efficient vectors for genetic engineering in plants.

  • Patent number: 7169596
Abstract: This invention provides a novel isolated polynucleotide sequence, called ADARP1 (adenosine deaminase related protein 1), that displays significant homology to the adenosine deaminase (ADA) gene. Also provided is the amino acid sequence of the ADARP1 polypeptide encoded by the polynucleotide of the invention. The RNA for this novel gene is found in variety of tissues, with higher levels observed in the heart, testes, and skeletal muscle compared with others tested. Based on amino acid sequence homology, the ADARP1 protein will likely display the catalytic activity characteristic of ADA. This newly found ADARP1 gene and its encoded product may be useful in the treatment of immunodeficiencies, including severe combined immunodeficiency disease (SCID) and other ADA deficiencies, treatment of male reproductive disorders, testicular disorders and musclo-skeletal disorders.

  • Publication number: 20070021994
Abstract: A method and system for analyzing impact of change in an organizational entity. A graph H includes nets, nodes of the nets, edges connecting the nodes, and edge weights for the edges. The edge weights denote changes in some nodes resulting from changes in other nodes. For a given set Z of nodes A and for each node B characterized by a set S of at least one path of edges connecting nodes of H from node A to node B for each node A of Z, a measure M(Z,B) of a change in node B resulting from a change in each node A of Z is determined. M(Z,B) is a function of the edge weights in each path of S. Each node B of H is displayed via a graphical representation G(B) assigned to each node B. G(B) is a function of M(Z,B).

  • Publication number: 20070014682
Abstract: This invention describes methods of compacting and densifying high purity silicon powder to defined geometric forms and shapes. High purity silicon powder is first mixed with binder from a select group of binders and pressed into desired shapes in a mechanical equipment. The binder is removed either in a separate step or combined with a subsequent sintering operation. The binders and process conditions are chosen to make negligible change to the purity of the silicon in the end product. When high purity silicon powder is utilized in the process, the end use for the densified silicon compacts is primarily as feedstock for silicon-based photovoltaic manufacturing industries.
