  • Publication number: 20180160119
Abstract: Methods and apparatus of video decoding for a 360-degree video sequence are disclosed. According to one method, a bitstream comprising compressed data for a previous 360-degree frame and a current 360-degree frame in a 360-degree video sequence is received. A first view region in the previous 360-degree frame associated with a first field of view is determined for a user at a previous frame time. An extended region from the first view region in the current 360-degree frame is determined based on user's viewpoint information. The extended region in the current 360-degree frame is then decoded. A second view region in the current 360-degree frame associated with an actual field of view is rendered for the user at a current frame time.

  • Patent number: 9943807
Abstract: Disclosed is a spiral wound membrane element that provides two permeate streams through a permeate carrier sheet. The spiral wound membrane element is sealed such that the only communication with the permeate carrier is through a membrane sleeve. The first permeate stream flows spirally inward and the second permeate stream flows in the opposite direction, spirally outward. The permeate carrier sheet is sealed at two edges so that the permeate streams can only discharge from opposite, unsealed edges of the permeate carrier sheet. The first permeate stream may be collected in a central collection tube and the second permeate stream may be collected in a peripheral region of the membrane element.

  • Publication number: 20180100773
Abstract: Provided are a temperature sensor and an active phase-shifted grating-based temperature sensing system, relating to a fibre sensing technical field. The temperature sensor comprises a pump laser, a wavelength division multiplexer, an optical detector and an active phase-shifted fibre grating with ? phase shift. Pump light emitted by the pump laser enters the active phase-shifted fibre grating through the wavelength division multiplexer. The active phase-shifted fibre grating absorbs the pump light and emits laser light, which travels back through the wavelength division multiplexer and enters the optical detector. The optical detector measures output power of the active phase-shifted fibre grating, to analyze the power to obtain ambient temperature of the active phase-shifted fibre grating.

  • Patent number: 9941099
Abstract: Elastomeric components, such as a shoe outsole, are treated with a plasma application to clean and activate the elastomeric component. The application of plasma is controlled to achieve a sufficient surface composition change to enhance adhesion characteristics while not adversely physically deforming the elastomeric component. The plasma treatment is applied to increase carbonyl functional group concentrations within an altered region of the elastomeric component to within at least a range of 2%-15% of carbon atomic percentage composition. The cleaning and activation is controlled, in part, by ensuring a defined height offset range is maintained between the elastomeric component and the plasma source by a generated tool path. The elastomeric component may then be adhered, with an adhesive, to another component.
