  • Patent number: 9864210
Abstract: An elastic eyeglass temple includes: a main body; one or more holes which are formed in one predetermined section or respectively in plural predetermined sections of the main body and which, if plural, can be spaced apart or in communication with one another; and one or more flexible members which correspond in configuration to the hole or respectively to the plural holes, which are fitted in the hole or respectively in the plural holes, and which lie compliantly along the main body, such that the one or more flexible members form a single unit with the main body. Once pivotally connected to the corresponding lateral end of an eyeglass frame, the eyeglass temple can stay elastic and provide an elastic contact with a lateral side of the user's head even after it has been pulled outward repeatedly for some time.

  • Patent number: 9858261
Abstract: According to an aspect, relation extraction using manifold models includes identifying semantic relations to be modeled in a selected domain. Data is collected from at least one unstructured data source based on the identified semantic relations. Labeled and unlabeled data that were both generated from the collected data is received. The labeled data includes indicators of validity of the identified semantic relations in the labeled data. Training data that includes both the labeled and unlabeled data is created. A manifold model is trained based on the training data. The manifold model is applied to new data, and a semantic relation is extracted from the new data based on the applying.

  • Publication number: 20170371861
Abstract: An architecture and processes enable computer learning and developing an understanding of arbitrary natural language text through collaboration with humans in the context of joint problem solving. The architecture ingests the text and then syntactically and semantically processes the text to infer an initial understanding of the text. The initial understanding is captured in a story model of semantic and frame structures. The story model is then tested through computer generated questions that are posed to humans through interactive dialog sessions. The knowledge gleaned from the humans is used to update the story model as well as the computing system's current world model of understanding. The process is repeated for multiple stories over time, enabling the computing system to grow in knowledge and thereby understand stories of increasingly higher reading comprehension levels.

  • Publication number: 20170373326
Abstract: A thermoelectric device includes a tubular electrode filled with an electrolyte, a core rod electrode inserted in the tubular electrode and in contact with the electrolyte, and at least one plug configured to separate the tubular electrode from the core rod electrode and to cover a filling opening of the tubular electrode. The plug is located between the tubular electrode and the core rod electrode. When the tubular electrode and the core rod electrode have a temperature difference, thermal energy can be directly converted into electric energy by the redox reaction of the electrolyte, and the tubular electrode and the core rod electrode can generate electromotive force. In particular, the thermoelectric device may use the structural design between the tubular electrode and the core rod electrode to provide a greater contact area with a heat source, and may be directly immersed in a heat source.

  • Patent number: 9854558
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for a high-resolution active RTLS tag location determination system that provides for <1 ns TOA accuracy and resolution and significantly reduces the channel effects of multipath interference, even in low SNR applications. To accomplish these objectives, the present invention provides for an iterative and adaptive windowing function in each of the receivers of a receiver grid that captures multiple reflections of multiple transmissions from each of the associated target RTLS tags. The adaptive windowing function is used in conjunction with an asynchronous transmit and receive clock function that effectively increases resolution of TOA detection to levels less than the minimum detection window width associated with each of the receivers in the receiver grid.
