  • Publication number: 20210113143
Abstract: The present invention is directed to movement disorder determination systems and methods. The systems and methods involve a mobile device and a computer system communicating with each other over a communications network. The mobile device is implemented with a pattern receiving and conversion software application and the computer system is implemented with a pattern processing software application. The pattern receiving and conversion software application and the pattern processing software application are configured to determine whether an individual has a movement disorder and the severity of the disorder if he does from a trace produced by the individual over a pattern such as an Archemidal spiral. The pattern processing software application processes the user trace to make the determination and informs the user the result of its determination.

  • Patent number: 10928845
Abstract: Described herein are various technologies pertaining to predicting an amount of electrical power that is to be generated by a power system at a future point in time, wherein the power system utilizes a renewable energy resource to generate electrical power. A camera is positioned to capture an image of sky over a geographic region of interest. The image is analyzed to predict an amount of solar radiation that is to be received by the power source at a future point in time. The predicted solar radiation is used to predict an amount of electrical power that will be output by the power system at the future point in time. A computational resource of a data center that is powered by way of the power source is managed as a function of the predicted amount of power.

  • Publication number: 20200356384
Abstract: Techniques for determining a virtual machine configuration based on garbage collection characteristics are disclosed. GC characteristics associated with GC cycles executed on a memory allocated for execution of an application are obtained. A relationship between GC variables is determined based on the GC characteristics collected over a time period of interest. A target GC characteristic is input to the GC variable relationship to determine an expected GC characteristic. The target GC characteristic may be, for example, a target cumulative pause time per a time interval. A virtual machine configuration is determined based on the expected GC characteristic. The virtual machine configuration is applied to a virtual machine executing the application.

  • Patent number: 10767630
Abstract: A method for operating a wind farm connected to a power grid that demands a reactive power requirement that varies with active power includes monitoring a wind speed at each of the plurality of wind turbines in the wind farm. When the wind speed is within a cut-in wind speed range, the method includes determining a reactive power margin of the wind farm based on the reactive power requirement at an active power output corresponding to the wind speed and a reactive power availability of each of the plurality of wind turbines at the wind speed. The method also includes determining a lowest possible cut-in rotor speed for each of the plurality of wind turbines that satisfies the reactive power margin. Further, the method includes commanding each of the plurality of wind turbines to cut-in and begin to produce power at the lowest possible cut-in rotor speed that satisfies the reactive power margin.
