  • Patent number: 10596396
Abstract: A wearable lightweight fire fighter's personal escape system and method includes a rope, having a distal and proximal end, organized in parallel segments disposed in an inner pouch. The inner pouch is entirely contained in an outer pouch that is appointed to be removably attached to a belt or harness, worn by a fire fighter. The proximal end of the rope exits through an opening in the inner pouch and outer pouch and is attached directly to a lightweight hook, or optionally enters a belay device. The hook has a sharp point for creating a purchase point on soft surfaces, a hook opening having sufficient diameter to surround radiators, steam pipe and the like, and capture rope that surrounds substantial objects. The hook has a central opening appointed for holding a firefighting tool to aid in creating a substantial object. The fire fighter escapes by creating a purchase point and repelling at a high speed or at a controlled speed by adjusting belay friction.

  • Patent number: 10589050
Abstract: Some embodiments provide for an inspiratory limb for a breathing circuit that includes a first segment that comprises a first heater wire circuit and a second segment that comprises a second heater wire circuit. The inspiratory limb can include an intermediate connector that includes a connection circuit that electrically couples the first heater wire circuit to the second heater wire circuit. The inspiratory limb can be configured to operate in two modes wherein, in a first mode, electrical power passes through the first electrical connection to provide power to the first heater wire circuit without providing power to the second heater wire circuit, and in a second mode, electrical power pass through the first electrical connection to provide power to both the first heater wire circuit and the second heater wire circuit.

  • Publication number: 20190325041
Abstract: Cassandra SSTable data is transformed to provide data rows that are a consistent size such that data in each row has a length that is contained within a selected fixed sized kilobyte segment for deduplication. Tables of a Cassandra cluster node are translated in parallel to JSON format using Cassandra SSTableDump and the table rows are parsed to provide data rows corresponding to the data in each table row. Each row of data is padded with a predictable pattern of bits such that the data row has a length corresponding to the selected fixed segment size and has boundary locations that correspond to multiple of the selected segment size. Since each row of data starts on a segment boundary, duplicate rows of data will be identified wherever they move within a table.

  • Patent number: 10452494
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for performing storage object recovery. In one embodiment, there is disclosed a technique comprising allocating a scratch space to support recovery of a storage object, wherein the storage object comprises a set of slices and the scratch space is distinct with respect to the set of slices such that a slice allocator for allocating slices to and/or from the storage object is unaware of the existence of the scratch space. The technique also comprises taking offline the storage object for facilitating recovery of the storage object after at least a portion of the set of slices have been allocated. The technique further comprises performing a storage object recovery procedure to recover the storage object while the storage object is offline. The storage object recovery procedure utilizing the scratch space that was allocated to support the storage object recovery.

  • Publication number: 20190182369
Abstract: An image item processing engine for image item exchange may receive an image item data packet including two image items, each including a digital image documenting an action for a recipient institution and associated metadata. The metadata may identify the image item sender and a country associated with an image item, the packet originator, or the recipient institution, at least one country associated with the second image item being different than a country associated with the first image item. The engine may apply sorting rules to determine item types for the first and second image items based on their metadata, determine a recipient institution for the packet based on the item types, assemble a data transfer packet including the digital images and metadata included in the first and second image items, and provide the data transfer packet to a transfer packet routing service for routing to the selected recipient institution.

  • Publication number: 20190076620
Abstract: The disclosure relates to medical tubes and methods of manufacturing medical tubes. The tube may be a composite structure made of two or more distinct components that are spirally wound to form an elongate tube. For example, one of the components may be a spirally wound elongate hollow body, and the other component may be an elongate structural component also spirally wound between turns of the spirally wound hollow body The tube need not be made from distinct components, however. For instance, an elongate hollow body formed (e.g., extruded) from a single material may be spirally wound to form an elongate tube. The elongate hollow body itself may in transverse cross-section have a thin wall portion and a relatively thicker or more rigid reinforcement portion. The tubes can be incorporated into a variety of medical circuits or may be employed for other medical uses.

  • Publication number: 20190005569
Abstract: A product location system includes a computing device, and a computer-readable storage medium. The system identifies a retail location associated with a retailer, receives an indication of a target product that is to be located in the retail location, queries a product data store using the indication to identify the target product and a location of the target product in the retail location, retrieves a map of the retail location, where the map includes one or more electronic files and embedded metadata, modifies the map to include a visual indication associated with location of the target product, and causes the modified map to be displayed via the client electronic device such that the visual indication showing the location of the target product in the retail location is visible to a user via the client electronic device.

  • Patent number: 10049125
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for an address system to identify a field and/or a row in a data structure. A method may include receiving a request to modify a field of data, wherein the field of data is identified by a received field key. A method may also include determining whether the field of data was rendered for display. A method may also include modifying the field in a tree structure in an instance in which the field of data was rendered for display, wherein the received field key is configured locate an address object that is related to the field. A method may also include modifying the field of data in a tree structure in an instance in which the field of data was not rendered for display by locating the received field key in a field key lookup map, wherein the field key lookup map is configured to locate the address object.

  • Publication number: 20180214660
Abstract: A humidification system comprises a first sensor and a second sensor. The first and second sensors are adapted to sense flow characteristics within the system. The first and second sensors are isolated from the flow by barriers formed by respective first and second sealing members. The sealing members extend through apertures formed in the system and have a portion that contacts the sensing elements of the respective first and second sensors. A cartridge can hold the sensors and provide repeatable penetration depths into a flow passage of the system. A medical tube has a composite structure made of two or more distinct components that are spirally wound to form an elongate tube. One component can be a spirally wound elongate hollow body; the other component can be an elongate structural component spirally wound between turns of the spirally wound hollow body.

  • Publication number: 20180208397
Abstract: A material handling system has a vertical lift two vertically aligned carriages that are independently positionable on a vertical support structure by respective drive systems. A processor subsystem selects one of the two carriages to move an article from at least one in-feed conveyor to a selected level of an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS). The processor subsystem concurrently positions the other carriage to avoid a collision.

  • Patent number: 9850064
Abstract: Disclosed is a combined trash receptacle and replacement receptacle liner storage compartment. The receptacle comprises a structure having upstanding sidewalls forming an interior adapted to store refuse within a disposable liner. The base of the interior forms a divider shelf having a removable lid, whereby access to a lower cavity below the divider is provided. The cavity is an enclosed volume bounded by the upstanding receptacle sidewalls, interior divider and receptacle base surface, wherein the cavity provides a sealable storage compartment for storing replacement liners while separating the cavity from the interior portion of the receptacle. The replacement bags are thus shielded from fluid or solid refuse that may leak from a liner within the receptacle, while access into the cavity is granted via a divider access door. The divider may be formed from the receptacle sidewalls or is removably attachable thereto via a latching means around the divider periphery.
