Abstract: There is disclosed a computer-implemented method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for use in storage object recovery. In one embodiment, the method comprises determining that a storage object requires recovery, wherein the storage object comprises a dedicated recovery area at a fixed location. The method further comprises taking offline the storage object in response to determining that the storage object requires recovery. The method still further comprises performing a recovery procedure to recover the storage object, the recovery procedure utilizing the dedicated recovery area to support storage object recovery.

Abstract: This invention relates to an adapter for recording to removable storage device from a certain family of digital video recorders. More particularly, this adapter allows AJA® Video Systems, Inc's Ki Pro® and Ki Pro® Rack digital video recorders to record to removable storage devices such as a hard disk drive or solid state drive.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable medium for optimizing storage allocations based on system resources are disclosed. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for dynamic, policy-based allocation of system resources. The method includes maintaining statistics in connection with like system resources. Each of the system resources having associated statistics that are suitable for describing a relationship with an allocatable class of resource. A request is received for a resource. In response to receiving the request, one of the like system resources is selected, based on the statistics and a policy, as a best system resource in connection with the allocatable class of resource.

Abstract: A vehicle seat having a bottom frame, a seat back connected to the frame, and an armrest capable of upward and downward movement. The armrest includes a seat bracket connecting the armrest to the frame and a vertically variable adjustment mechanism. The mechanism has a control disposed in the armrest, a lock actuated to an engaged or disengaged position by the control, a rack disposed in a generally vertical direction, and a one-way bearing acting as pinion and having two rotational states. The first rotational state is a locked state where the lock is engaged and prevents the one-way bearing from rotating, preventing the rack and armrest from a downward movement. The second rotational state is a free state where the lock is in the engaged position and a force is applied in the upward direction, the one-way bearing can rotate, allowing the rack and armrest an upward movement.

The hook has a sharp point for creating a purchase point on soft surfaces, a hook opening having sufficient diameter to surround radiators, steam pipe and the like, and capture rope that surrounds substantial objects. The hook has a central opening appointed for holding a firefighting tool to aid in creating a substantial object. The fire fighter escapes by creating a purchase point and repelling at a high speed or at a controlled speed by adjusting belay friction.

The data storage system is comprised of a set of storage entities and a set of data buses for transferring data to and from the set of storage entities. The set of storage entities are organized into a set of logical units. Each logical unit of the set of logical units is subdivided into a set of slices. A slice is selected from a logical unit of the set of logical units for allocation for use by the requesting entity in response to receiving the request for allocation. The selection is based on an optimum value indicating physical location of the logical unit within the set of storage entities during access to data to be stored in the data storage system.

The tube may be a composite structure made of two or more distinct components that are spirally wound to form an elongate tube. For example, one of the components may be a spirally wound elongate hollow body, and the other component may be an elongate structural component also spirally wound between turns of the spirally wound hollow body The tube need not be made from distinct components, however. For instance, an elongate hollow body formed (e.g., extruded) from a single material may be spirally wound to form an elongate tube. The elongate hollow body itself may in transverse cross-section have a thin wall portion and a relatively thicker or more rigid reinforcement portion.
