Abstract: A method and apparatus for setting a plurality of print wheels, in an automated cable making machine for imprinting a desired set of characters onto a connector housing. The method includes a unique way of homing each of the print wheels to a known position prior to setting the print wheels to their desired print positions. This is a done by rotating each print wheel until a rod, which is constrained to move only along its longitudinal axis, can be inserted into an opening in the print wheel. This prevents further rotation of the print wheel thereby indicating that the wheel is in its home position.

Abstract: Corrugated carton is moved between sprayers which apply water to the score lines of each major end flap and on opposite sides of the score bar about 1" up on the flap and 1" down on the panel. The major flaps are then bent into closed position and while bent, heat is applied to raise the temperature of the wet areas until the same are dry. Then, the bending means and heat are removed. Each end flap assumes a substantially closed position.

Abstract: A new hop plant (Humulus lupulus) is disclosed. The new variety is used for its aromatic properties. The new variety is moderately tolerant to powdery mildew, and produces a medium size moderately compact cone with good pickability and storageability. The cones mature relatively late, and produce an exceptional yield of approximately 2200 to 3000 pounds per acre (2466 to 3363 kg/ha).

Abstract: A new hop plant variety is disclosed. The new variety is used for its bittering and aromatic properties. The new variety is moderately tolerant to powdery mildew and Sphaerotheca. The new variety produces a medium size compact cone with good pickability and storageability. The cones mature early, and yield a crop of 2650 to 2880 pounds per acre (2970 to 3230 kg/ha).

Abstract: The new hop plant variety is a bittering-type cultivar of recent origin. Its bittering and aromatic properties are similar to the Galena hop variety. However, unlike Galena which is susceptible to powdery mildew, the new variety is moderately tolerant to powdery mildew. It is also tolerant to Sphaerotheca. The new variety produces a medium size cone with fair to good pickability, and fair to good storageability. Harvest is medium-late, with a crop yield of 2450 to 2550 pounds per acre (2750 to 2860 kg/ha).

The new variety was cultivated as a result of a cross at a nursery near Prosser, Wash., United States, and has been asexually reproduced in and about Yakima, Wash., United States.
