  • Publication number: 20120232169
Abstract: (PEG)-lipid conjugates and methods of preparation are disclosed herein. Methods of preparation may involve stepwise addition of small PEG oligomers to a glycerol backbone until a desired chain size is attained. Polymers resulting from the syntheses may be highly monodisperse. The resulting polymers may comprise branched polyethyleneglycol (PEG)-lipid conjugates. The present disclosure may provide several advantages such as simplified synthesis, high product yield and low cost for starting materials. The present synthesis method may be suitable for preparing a wide range of conjugates such as PEG lipid conjugates having a glycerol-like central backbone covalently attached to two or more monodisperse PEG chains and a lipid comprising a range of diesters made from fatty acids or bile acids.

  • Patent number: 8189737
Abstract: Processes for producing a microCT image for virtual histology using x-ray microscopic computed tomography are described along with processes for rapid and inexpensive high-throughput methods of high resolution imaging for screening an ex vivo embryo for phenotype using computed tomography imaging. Staining of particular components of specimens with one or more staining agents is described which contributes to high quality image generation and identification of anatomical structures as well as localization of molecular targets. Inventive animal and specimen holders are detailed which allow for reduced post-imaging processing of generated images. In particular, animal and specimen holders are provided which include a highly transparent bed or liner which separates the animal or specimen from a less transparent structure.

  • Publication number: 20120102386
Abstract: A server system enables users to configure user interfaces. A generic presentation string is stored at a data storage system. The generic presentation string is renderable to present an unfilled template that may include one or more slots. A template module is generated from the generic presentation string. The generic presentation string specifies a transformation operation. A template execution operation generates presentation strings renderable to present filled templates. In the filled templates, data based on objects belonging to a given type replace the slots of the unfilled template.

  • Publication number: 20120102095
Abstract: A client device presents a resource to a user. In order to present the resource, the client device generates and renders one or more presentation strings. The client device generates a presentation string by identifying a template module that corresponds to an content resource object in a dataset downloaded by the client device. The client device then performs a template execution operation on the content resource object. The template module corresponding to the content resource object specifies the template execution operation.

  • Patent number: 8015099
Abstract: A method for routing a financial instrument order incorporating dark pools and at least one electronic communication network (ECN) or exchange. The financial instrument order includes an identification of a financial instrument, a bid or ask price, and a number of units to be traded. A ping order of the dark pools is determined. The financial instrument order is routed to a top dark pool as an immediate or cancel order. If the financial instrument order is not complete, the ping order is updated by removing the top dark pool. If any dark pools remain in the updated ping order, the financial instrument order is routed to the next dark pool. This process continues until all of the dark pools have been pinged or the financial instrument order is complete. If the financial instrument order is not complete, the financial instrument order is routed to the ECN or exchange.
