  • Publication number: 20100330033
Abstract: The invention provides compositions and methods for covalent attachment of polymer and lipid carriers to therapeutic proteins to form carrier-protein conjugates having linkers between the carrier and protein portions of the conjugates. The linkers are selected to minimize steric effects. The linkers reduce the shielding effect of the carrier on the therapeutic protein and also allow better access for enzymatic or chemical cleavage of the carbamate bond. The linkers attach to the therapeutic protein via a carbamate bond and are either directly adjacent to the carbamate bond or are separated by a single carbon having a nitrogen side chain. Such linkers are solely comprised of carbon, sulfur and hydrogen and are between four and ten atoms (either C or S) in length.

  • Publication number: 20090152524
Abstract: A fence stabilization system has a plurality of vertical fence support posts, each having hollow interiors extending the full length of each post. A column insert is positioned within each support post and extends substantially the length of the post. Each column insert is adjacent to, but spaced apart from the outer wall of the support post. The column insert has openings which are aligned with openings in the support post itself for the insertion of horizontal fence rail members into and through both the column insert and support post openings. Locking brackets with threaded connectors are located near the upper ends of the column insert and support post for securing horizontal rail members to the post. Threaded adjustment connectors are located near the lower ends of the column insert and support post to adjust the position of the column insert within the post and to secure the column insert position within the post.

  • Publication number: 20090080600
Abstract: Processes for producing a microCT image for virtual histology using x-ray microscopic computed tomography are described along with processes for rapid and inexpensive high-throughput methods of high resolution imaging for screening an ex vivo embryo for phenotype using computed tomography imaging. Staining of particular components of specimens with one or more staining agents is described which contributes to high quality image generation and identification of anatomical structures as well as localization of molecular targets. Inventive animal and specimen holders are detailed which allow for reduced post-imaging processing of generated images. In particular, animal and specimen holders are provided which include a highly transparent bed or liner which separates the animal or specimen from a less transparent structure.

  • Publication number: 20090024512
Abstract: A method for routing a financial instrument order incorporating dark pools and at least one electronic communication network (ECN) or exchange. The financial instrument order includes an identification of a financial instrument, a bid or ask price, and a number of units to be traded. A ping order of the dark pools is determined. The financial instrument order is routed to a top dark pool as an immediate or cancel order. If the financial instrument order is not complete, the ping order is updated by removing the top dark pool. If any dark pools remain in the updated ping order, the financial instrument order is routed to the next dark pool. This process continues until all of the dark pools have been pinged or the financial instrument order is complete. If the financial instrument order is not complete, the financial instrument order is routed to the ECN or exchange.

  • Publication number: 20070236496
Abstract: A graphic arts image development process includes the generation of a computer tomography scan of an object to yield a computer data file representative of a three-dimensional volume X-ray density of the object. Computer algorithms operate on the computer data file to yield an object rendering as a three-dimensional array of false color pixels. A graphic arts technique is applied to the object rendering within a two-dimensional image space to yield the graphic arts image. Graphic art image techniques applied to the object rendering include duplication, symmetry inversion, contrast inversion, superposition, or distortion. Superposition is of a second image where the second image is provided by conventional imaging techniques or is a rendering of a second object produced by computer tomography scanning.
