  • Publication number: 20240078755
Abstract: Computing an image depicting a face having an expression with wrinkles is described. A 3D polygon mesh model of a face has a non-neutral expression. A tension map is computed from the 3D polygon mesh model. A neutral texture, a compressed wrinkle texture and an expanded wrinkle texture are computed or obtained from a library. The neutral texture comprises a map of the first face with a neutral expression. The compressed wrinkle texture is a map of the first face formed by aggregating maps of the first face with different expressions using the tension map, and the expanded wrinkle texture comprises a map of the first face formed by aggregating maps of the first face with different expressions using the tension map. A graphics engine may be used to apply the wrinkle textures to the 3D model according to the tension map; and render the image from the 3D model.

  • Publication number: 20240072383
Abstract: A battery interconnect may include a desired current capacity, integrated fusible links, and be manufacturable using cost effective techniques. In some embodiments, a battery interconnect includes a busbar and relatively thinner links. A busbar carries larger currents and accordingly its cross-sectional areas are relatively larger to reduce ohmic losses. A link carries a much smaller current, and a fusible link is configured to break the circuit when the current is above a threshold, thus requiring a relatively small cross-sectional area. These sometime disparate length scales are addressed using several techniques such as layering a busbar and a foil sheet and pressing portions of a busbar to form the links. The links can be affixed to a plurality of battery cells to connect the cells in parallel or series.

  • Publication number: 20240070316
Abstract: Techniques for a privacy-based user data sharing protocol disclose a system that receives a request to consent to share user data with a subscriber device. The system identifies, based on the request, a smart contract associated with the subscriber device. The smart contract comprises one or more conditions for collecting and managing the user data. The system generates a token based on the smart contract, in which the token indicates consent by a user to share the user data with the subscriber device according to the one or more conditions. The system records the generated token to a blockchain.

  • Publication number: 20240070408
Abstract: A card reader prevents a magnetic read head of the card reader from being able to read a magnetic strip of a card and forces the card reader to read card data from an embedded chip of the card instead of the magnetic strip. An electromagnetic noise interference signal is generated and is maintained within the card reader. The signal prevents a magnetic read head of the card reader and any skimmer present within the card reader from reading the magnetic strip of the card. In an embodiment, the signal is generated and maintained as long as the card reader is powered on. In an embodiment, the signal is generated when at least one sensor of the card reader detects a presence of the card proximate to a card slot of the card reader, within the card slot, or within the card reader adjacent to the magnetic read head.
