  • Publication number: 20240017850
Abstract: A method for producing a nacelle inlet assembly includes forming a composite panel that has a carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) material. The composite panel is formed to have a curved contour that represents at least a portion of an annular barrel shape. The method includes applying a metallic coating to the composite panel to form a lipskin. The metallic coating is applied such that the metallic coating defines an exterior surface of the lipskin and the composite panel defines an interior surface of the lipskin. The method includes laser drilling a plurality of perforations through the lipskin. The laser drilling involves emitting a laser beam that impinges upon the interior surface of the lipskin and penetrates the CFRP material of the composite panel before penetrating the metallic coating and exiting the lipskin through the exterior surface.

  • Publication number: 20240018682
Abstract: A method for producing a structural material stack includes forming a composite panel that includes a carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) material, and applying an interface film on an exterior composite surface of the composite panel. The interface film is electrically conductive. The method includes performing an electroplating process to form a metallic coating on the interface film such that the interface film is sandwiched between the composite panel and the metallic coating. • Publication number: 20240017839
Abstract: A fluid ice protection system for an aircraft includes a plenum back wall and a fluid delivery network. The plenum back wall is affixed to an interior surface of an inlet cowl of a nacelle of the aircraft to define a plenum between the interior surface and a front surface of the plenum back wall. The nacelle surrounds a rotor assembly of an aircraft propulsion system. The inlet cowl defines a plurality of perforations through a thickness of the inlet cowl. The perforations are fluidly connected to the plenum. The fluid delivery network is coupled to the plenum back wall and configured to supply an anti-ice liquid into the plenum for the anti-ice liquid to penetrate through the perforations onto an exterior surface of the inlet cowl along a leading edge section of the inlet cowl.

  • Publication number: 20240007137
Abstract: A filter, apparatus, system and method are provided for implementing a band select filter, for example a frequency agile band select filter. In an implementation, the filter includes two separate signal generators configured to provide different local oscillator signals to an input mixer and to an output mixer, resulting in the filter output frequency being different from the filter input frequency. This is in contrast to known approaches which use the same signal generator to drive both input and output mixers. The filter may include two bandpass filters, three mixers, and three signal generators, each signal generator uniquely associated with one of the mixers, and configured to provide bandwidth control. A system of filters may include a set of bandpass filters, a plurality of sets of mixers, and a plurality of sets of signal generators, each set of signal generators being associated with a different set of mixers.

  • Publication number: 20230381484
Abstract: In an embodiment, a connector or connector assembly for attaching a nasal cannula with a gas delivery hose includes a sensor port for a sensor probe positioned near an end of a nasal cannula, which can allow the sensor probe to be placed closer to the patient's nostrils than previous connector parts allowed. The connector can be configured to advantageously allow the nasal cannula to rotate relative to the gas delivery hose, thereby allowing a patient or healthcare provider to untangle or otherwise straighten the hose or the cannula. The connector assembly can be configured to automatically align locking protrusions on a first component with locking recesses on a second component, where insertion of the second component within the first component causes the second component to rotate relative to the first component, thereby aligning the locking protrusions with associated locking recesses.

  • Patent number: 11815101
Abstract: A ceiling fan or similar air-moving device can include a motor for rotating one or more blades to drive a volume of air about a space. The blade can include a body having an outer surface with a flat top surface and a flat bottom surface, and a side edge. A performance feature can be included in the body to improve efficiency. Due to manufacturing distortions, an offset can exist between the performance feature and other parts of the body. A transition portion can be formed at the offsets to remedy inefficiencies resultant of these distortions.

  • Patent number: 11787607
Abstract: A drinking cup includes a container and a detachable closure. The closure has a connection end for connection to the container, the connection end being open for receipt of liquid from within the container. The closure has a closed end opposite the connection end and a drinking rim formed at the peripheral edge of the closed end. The closure has a side wall extending between the connection end and the closed end, and at least one opening that facilitates the passage of liquid from within the container to the drinking rim. A seal is supported by the closure and extends around an outside surface of the side wall, sealing the drinking rim against the passage of liquid through the drinking rim. The seal is flexible and responsive to pressure to lift away from the drinking rim to allow passage of liquid through the drinking rim for drinking from the cup.

  • Patent number: 11791810
Abstract: A transposed delay line oscillator including a mode selection filter and a transposed delay line is provided. An output of the transposed delay line is coupled to an input of the mode selection filter to establish an oscillator loop. Based on the transposed delay line output, the mode selection filter generates a mode selection signal including an isolated oscillatory mode, in a Radio Frequency (RF) band. The transposed delay line receives the mode selection signal for transposition to an intermediate frequency of an intermediate frequency (IF) delay line. The IF delay line includes a delay filter and a phase noise suppression loop configured to suppress de-correlated transposition phase noise resulting from a delay of the delay filter. Suppression of phase noise in the IF delay line enables cancellation of transposition phase noise when transposing the IF delay line output to the RF band.
