    Abstract: An electronic package structure is provided, which includes: a carrier; at least one electronic component and a plurality of conductive elements disposed on the carrier; a metal frame bonded to the conductive elements; and an encapsulant formed on the carrier and the metal frame and encapsulating the electronic component and the conductive elements. The metal frame is exposed from the encapsulant to serve as an electrical contact. As such, instead of using a mold having a particular size corresponding to the electronic package structure as in the prior art, the present disclosure can use a common mold to form the encapsulant, thereby reducing the fabrication cost. The present disclosure further provides a method for fabricating the electronic package structure.

    Abstract: A pin hole or aperture is located or formed adjacent to the end surface of one or more of the input ports or fibers, or adjacent to one or more of the output ports or fibers, of a fiberoptic component. The aperture allows light to enter (or exit) the core of the associated fiber, and the non-transparent layer that surrounds the aperture blocks light from entering or exiting the cladding layer of the associated fiber. This blocking of the evanescent field in the cladding layer serves to reduce the polarization, wavelength, and temperature dependencies of the light coupling to the output port(s) or fiber(s) of the optical component. It can also reduce the passband width of the selected wavelength in tunable optical filter applications. The non-transparent layer surrounding the aperture can be made reflective, and light that is reflected by the non-transparent layer can be used for optical power monitoring.

    Abstract: An active network monitoring system for detecting an abnormality at a position between a communication office and a client includes a first monitoring module disposed on the communication office, a second monitoring module disposed on the client and an optical splitter. The first monitoring module has a first processor and a first laser diode. The second monitoring module has a second processor and a second laser diode. The first processor sends a digital signal to the first laser diode. The first laser diode modulates the digital signal into an optical signal and sends the optical signal to the second monitoring module via the optical splitter. The second laser diode converts the optical signal back to the digital signal, and sends the digital signal to the second processor to generate an identification signal of the client. The identification signal is transmitted to the communication office via the second laser diode.

The photo group includes a plurality of photos of an object successively captured in different focuses and the sharpness look-up table records sharpness information of each of the photos. The displaying method comprises displaying a cover photo of the photo group and receiving a selecting signal indicating a position on the cover photo. According to the position, the sharpness information of each photo in the sharpness look-up table is checked to determine a photo to be displayed, wherein the sharpness information of the determined photo shows a sharpness score at the position of the determined photo is the maximum among the sharpness scores at the positions of the photos in the photo group. The determined photo of the object is displayed.
